Is Harlan Hall the best dorm at UCSD?

Students rated Harlan Hall a 3.2/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

There was enough dust in the vent to cause significant respiratory issues for my dorm mates and I. It is super isolated from the majority of campus. The fire alarms went off every single time someone took a mildly warm shower. There is not a kitchen. The nature in the surrounding area is nice. Common room sucks. Save yourself the money, grief, and misery by simply not living in the res hall.

You get your privacy with the single but the walls are thin. Also had a lot of bathroom problems during my time there. Lived on the first floor so not much privacy if the blinds are up.

The triples were really small and both my roommates spent all their time in there so I hung out on our floor lounge and common area a lot. I totally recommend the dorms for the super fun experience, but if you want a comfy living arrangement I recommend a single ! If you're on the top bunk be careful because you'll end up bumping your head on the ceiling! I have so many bruises on my arms and legs because I bumped into the celing and wall.

What else can you ask for -- Warren dorms give a classic college experience. My only complaint would be that the halls are the farthest away from the center of campus.

This dorm is so amazing! I don't even know where to begin! It feels great knowing I have the smallest room on campus with the crappiest bed. The showers came straight from prison. Not to mention, I've seen nicer park bathrooms. I also love not having a kitchen. Really inspires me to go out and eat expensive meals. Our lounge has the budget of a poor African. God forbid you leave the balcony door open for more than 5 minutes as an army of rats will invade the dorm. Aside from the awful housing conditions Harlan hall attracts the worse kind of people. I can't even sleep without hearing the loud roaring teenagers rage through the hall. My roommate loves to play drums at 2:00 am while everyone wants to go to bed. The laundry room is like a nuclear furnace radiating tremendous amounts of heat, keeping the halls to a nice 90 degrees. There is no advantage to living in Harlan hall other than being the closest to a cliff. If you care about your happiness, don't live here.
