Marshall Residence Halls Reviews

To get the negative stuff out of the way, the bathrooms were by far the worst part of my experience at the Marshall Residence Halls. The shower would get insanely hot whenever anybody on the floor (or maybe even the building) flushed the toilet. It was impossible to shower without having to avoid scalding hot water every 5 minutes. Toilets and sinks would also occasionally get clogged, but the HDH Fix-It workers usually responded pretty quickly to ticket requests. For the positives, the size of my double and the common area were respectable compared to the other colleges'. I lived in the Voice Residence hall in a double. I lived on the first floor and our window was tiny and in a location where we could get any sort of natural sunlight. Besides the room was not too small for two people. There was plenty of space for a fridge and microwave but had to move the drawers under the beds to make for more space. The bathroom and common area were nice but the bathroom can get dirty pretty quick with 8 people using it every day. However, no kitchen for residence halls which made me rely solely on dining hall food. Location wise, the res halls are good because there is a dining hall right next to it and the washing machines are relatively close to the rooms.

I stayed in the voice res halls. The area was a very nice place, especially because we were so close to the voice courtyard. The rooms themselves are big enough to be doubles or singles. Showers and toilets were cleaned every Monday to Friday. The closet was big enough to fit all my clothes. Overall 5/5. Would love to stay here again.

While I enjoyed my time at the dorms, a triple was not the most ideal as it was very small and hardly had any room to walk. Looking back I'd probably settle for a double or single even if it cost a little bit more because it would make my experience better overall.

Lived in the corner building so it was far from laundry but bathroom gets cleaned almost every day and the workers are very nice

The suite I was in had a total of 9 people living in it, and we were very compatible with each other. The suite has a shared common room with a choice, arm chairs, and a coffee table. There is also a nice balcony connected to the common space. A vacuum is provided (all rooms are carpeted). The shared bathroom has 3 sinks, 2 toilets, and 2 showers. However, one of our showers had crazy temperatures that made it practically unusable (and I hear this from some other people from my building on other floors, so it may be specific). My room had a good amount of space, lots of drawers and storage space in the closet and under the bed. This dorm was great! Mine was at the bottom of a steep hill though, but not a huge problem. Honestly don’t have too much bad to say. Only some of the halls had elevators but you can take it up to your floor and walk through the other halls’ hallways to get to yours. Keypad system to get through hallways and into your suite and then individual room door locks. Sometimes showers were weird temperatures. No kitchen or dishwashing area included!
