Is Shasta Hall the best dorm at UC Davis?

Students rated Shasta Hall a 4.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

pros: private bathroom for each suite, big rooms, newer than other dorms, next to trader joes cons: off campus

I really liked living in Shasta :) All suites are minimum 6 people (two triples) and max 9 people (three triples) but have private restrooms. Technically considered “off-campus” but still close to school and next to trader joe’s/ uni mall. DC is okay… 7/10.

I would say Shasta is by far one of the better dorms to live in as it’s the newest one built and offers students their own bathrooms, which was definitely a big deal for me. Not having to share a bathroom with the whole hall was amazing and they even send someone in to clean it for you once a week! Rooms were bigger than I expected and you have a thermostat to control the temperature. The common spaces are clean and modern and there are three lounges per floor for you to study or hang out in. The location is a little inconvenient as it’s farther from campus but it’s really not so bad if you have a bike (>10 min ride) and it’s across the street from the Trader Joe’s which is nice. Also super close to Oxford Park so you can get out in nature and play frisbee. Overall, an awesome place to live!
