Ryerson Hall Reviews
UC Davis
Reviews Summary
Ryerson Hall offers an appealing residential experience with its spacious rooms available in doubles or singles, which students find surprisingly roomy. The large windows and ample closet space enhance the ambiance, making it feel bright, homey, and warm. Its location is a significant advantage, being conveniently close to various essentials like dining halls, Trader Joe's, the gym, and academic buildings, allowing easy access to necessities and activities. Socially vibrant, Ryerson is described as more lively compared to other dorms, often hosting students who enjoy a dynamic environment, including football players and those involved in fraternity life. While the building itself might not be the most modern, and some maintenance issues are noted, students appreciate the daily cleaning regimen that keeps the common areas like bathrooms reasonably clean, despite occasional inconveniences with cramped stalls and ants if food is left unmanaged. The community benefits from features like kitchenettes and laundry rooms on every floor, making daily life more convenient. Despite some noise from nearby activities and drafty windows, Ryerson Hall is celebrated for its social atmosphere and convenient location, making it a popular choice among students.

The rooms are all doubles or singles, and feel shockingly more spacious than you would think. Location-wise you are right next to the market and other places like Trader Joe's and Rite-Aid. The noise is fine almost always except for on weekends when baseball games are played across the street and you can't really sleep in (if you sleep in until noon). The biggest problem is the bathrooms. Some of the stalls are uncomfortably cramped and if someone starts throwing their food out there ants will come. Fortunately it gets cleaned every day but it can get annoying.

Big rooms with nice windows and lots of closet space. The location was great since it's near the dining halls, the gym, and to classes. The room isn't as new or modern as some of the other dorms, but it had everything it needed. The bathrooms weren't the best.

I loved living in Ryerson! The rooms are really big and so are the closets. I brought all of my clothes from home and had no problem with space at all. The windows are also really large which is so nice and makes it feel more homey. Segundo is definitely the place to live. We had late night and Tercero and cuarto would have to come to get food past like 8 pm. It’s also a lot more social than the other dorms.

The dorm rooms are spacious and have really nice build in closets. the windows are huge which help make the room feel bright and happy all the time. the bathroom stalls are small but not hard to adjust to. there are laundry rooms and kitchenettes on every floor which is convenient. best of all, the location is unbeatable!

Loved the location, segundo is the best! The building itself was kinda old and not in the best condition, had some bugs and stuff. The bathrooms were also less appealing than other residence halls but the rooms are waaay bigger. My room was huge for a dorm. Only other complaint is the street gets pretty loud at night and windows were drafty and didn’t block loud cars outside the building

Clean, spacious, pretty much as good as it gets for a public college dorm. The bathrooms are cleaned daily so even though it can get gross at times, there’s not much to complain about. There’s an all-girls floor if you prefer a quieter experience. Loved studying in the common room lounge with friends.

I LOVED Ryerson hall, seriously my friends and I worshipped it. I loved the dining commons (Segundo is the best), the closeness to trader joes and frat row, and the amazing double dorms. The only reason I didn't give my dorm room a 5/5 was because it had a weird smell. But the main reason why I loved Ryerson so much was the people -- they tend to put the football players and socal kids in this dorm, which makes it such a good time.
