Is Stetson West the best dorm at Northeastern?

Students rated Stetson West a 3.5/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

Tiny room with no ac that overlooked a dumpster which was emptied at like 3am a couple nights a week. Communal bathrooms but pretty clean. All that being said, I made a lot of friends here and I’ve heard others in “nicer” dorms didn’t - so something about the place pushes you together.

Ridiculously overpriced shoebox. Strongly don't recommend, but I guess compared to the rest of the Freshman housing it's about what you'd expect.

Overall, the rooms are slightly dingy and the communal bathrooms were not always clean (people are just messy). Nonetheless, it is very convenient that there is a dining hall within the building (but Stwest isn't always open) and another dining hall like 2 minutes away. Most classes are also within a 5-minute walk too. Definitely not the best first-year housing, but still decent.

Rooms are super small and kind of look like a prison cell when you turn the lights off lol. The bathroom was generally kept pretty clean. It has no ac so it can get pretty hot. In the winter, they crank the heat so you might have to open a window. My floor was loud as hell, so if you're looking for quiet, you won't find it here. The location is the best though

The rooms in Stetson West are very small and industrial looking (to say the least). For example, I had multiple exposed pipes in my room and cinder block walls. The beds are very close together, so you're basically living on top of your roommate. My room was right near the stairs and trash room, so I didn't get that much quiet and had to deal with the smell. Additionally, there's no AC, so it gets hot the first few weeks (especially if you're on the side that gets the afternoon sun). That said, the bathrooms are kept very clean (I think they're cleaned daily) and there are a lot of common areas/study spaces. Also, the dining hall is right there in the building, which is very convenient. The laundry room is right in the basement and was never full. Overall, it's pretty good as far as freshman dorms at Northeastern go, and it was fine for a year.
