Is 49 Symphony Road the best dorm at Northeastern?

Students rated 49 Symphony Road a 3.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

Mostly everything about this place is pretty good except for the cockroaches and mice. I had to call an exterminator multiple times throughout the fall to deal with pests. I would not recommend unless the pests have been taken care of since I lived there in Fall 2017.

Currently living in 49 Symphony in a triple! We each have our own bedrooms, all of which are a pretty decent size. I will say one of the downstairs bedrooms is on the smaller end with limited natural light, but it has a relatively big closet in comparison to the upstairs room. The other two rooms have nice natural light and are pretty decently sized. We live in a duplex, so we have to go up and down stairs everyday, which may not be the best if you need a more accessible living area. There is also an upstairs balcony attached to the bedroom which is nice! Major down sides of the apartment is that the communal living space is incredibly small, it does not come with a couch and just a table and chairs, we ended up buy a couch from amazon and ngl it is def cramped. We make it work, but if you like having guests over/ entertaining it isn't super cognisant to having people over. In regards to the building it gives off pretty run down vibes tbh, the exterior looks like a motel (I am not kidding). The trash room does have mice, and the hallways smell funky from people's trash leaking. There also is no elevator, which means we have to walk up like 4/5 flights of stairs to our apartment. Keeps us fit lol but def not accessible if that is something you are looking for. Overall it has been a relatively positive experience with some awesome memories, and no proctor and basically no RA so that is pretty awesome. Also the location is great, right in the middle of the hub of boston, and super close access to the T and Whole Foods. While I am eternally grateful I am not in university housing, it is definitely not the ritz, and I am super excited to be fully off campus next semester. Also any packages that aren't amazon get stolen typically.

I lived in the one bedroom apartment and I enjoyed it a lot. The trash room was kind of gross (there were definitely rats in the area) but for the most part my living space was fine. It got cold in the winter due to one wall just being all window and heat escaping easily, but bundling up helped. The location is what I valued most and its convenience for getting to classes, co-op, and other university buildings on that side of campus was really nice.
