LightView Apartments Reviews

Northeastern University

Reviews Summary

LightView Apartments offers modern, fully-furnished rooms with stunning views and great amenities like a gym. However, students have highlighted issues such as small room sizes, thin walls, and a lack of proper maintenance. Management has been deemed incompetent, with misleading advertisements and poor communication. Additionally, the building shows signs of rushed construction, with paint peeling off, doors not installed correctly, and frequent breakdowns of hot water and other facilities. Despite some positive aspects like fast internet and included utilities, students feel the dorm is overpriced compared to off-campus alternatives. Overall, LightView Apartments presents a mixed experience for residents, with both pros and cons to consider before choosing to live there.

When comparing to all other dorms on campus, even those with kitchens, this goes well above for quality and feel. Views and lighting are great bonuses. You get access to a gym no other student does. Only complaints are prices and laundry room shut downs (though it is standard pricing which is fair when it is somehow cheaper than West V).

It has amazing views and it is a very modern building. However for the price, it is a fairly small apartment

test -or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like). Where does it come from? Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin ...

Like others have said, the only good part about LightView is the location and the view if you get high enough of a floor. The building management sucks, the laundry room sucks and only has 10-15 washers / dryers working at a time for the whole building. Even though it’s an apartment, you still have to sign in guests which is one of the main benefits of having your own apartment. Mail system sucks, takes 1-2 days for them to process unless you get lucky and dig through the pile of boxes as soon as it gets delivered. Just live in NEU housing.

Unless you're in the super large doubles, the bedrooms are tiny. Hardly enough space for a bed and a desk. The paint on the walls in the bedrooms and common area was actually ceiling paint, at least when I lived there, so it chipped off very easily. We were then charged from our security deposit afterwards for damages that would not have happened had they painted the walls properly. Speaking of the walls, they're paper thin. You can hear everything from everywhere. The common area and security on the first floor are nice, and the study room/gym are great options. The laundry is decent, but the machines are often broken, and the room flooded a few times. Bathrooms are fine, seemed pretty standard. The whole selling point of Lightview, aside ...

The locations is good. That’s it. Don’t be fooled by the nice marketing. The rooms are way smaller than they appear and the construction of the whole building was rushed and shoddy. You’re hearing everything through the walls. The worst part is management. They honestly don’t care once you have signed a lease. They have straight up lied to me when I brought up issues and refuse to make any changes that require effort or are a slight inconvenience. For example, with Covid the only thing they did was close down the amenities. The week before new residents were moving in, they finally took action.... by putting up a couple signs and hand sanitizer. Which I guess is better than nothing, but they can’t even be bothered to enforce their own polic...

You’re paying for location and that’s it. Lightview advertises as this luxury building but for what you’re paying, it’s not. Rooms are tiny, the building was built in 3 months so everything falls apart. By far my worst complaint is the management. Nothing is communicated, and the lease is so misleading. We were pressured into resigning our lease for the next year less than a month after we moved in, with the promise that if we decided not to stay, it would be easy to have someone else take the spot. This could not be further from the truth. It was 4 months of fighting them to finally even get answers on how to get someone to take the spot. Seriously overpriced for a subpar room and incompetent management

I honestly really liked living here, so much that I resigned my lease for the 2020-2021 school year. It’s much cheaper than comparable on-campus options and also much cleaner and newer. I haven’t had any problems with thin walls or hot water like I know others did but that just may be luck on my part!

🅱️enis It's pretty great, overpriced compared to off campus but cheaper than on campus. Next time I'll rent an apartment tho.

Overall, Lightview has been great! I have had a few issues with mail delivery, and some of the hot water issues have been frustrating, but the amenities are good and the rooms are what we expected. I wish the walls were painted better since the couches destroy them if they touch the walls. Additionally, the guest sign-in process is tedious and was dishonestly advertised: I was promised there would be no proctored sign-in for guests, and there is. Furthermore, some of the security staff are quite unfriendly. The student staff are all great and while they can sometimes be a little misinformed, I know they're trying their best. The CONNECT portal where you pay rent is archaic and frequently denies payments: my roommate had to pay over $5000 ou...
