International Village Reviews
Northeastern University
Reviews Summary
International Village, commonly referred to as IV, is a contemporary dormitory located at Northeastern University, offering students a mix of positive and negative experiences. Reviews highlight the variety of room options, from singles to forced doubles, each with its own unique characteristics. While some students appreciated the modern facilities, spacious bathrooms, and proximity to amenities like the dining hall and gym, others found the location inconvenient for getting around campus. The building boasts clean and well-maintained common areas, ample study spaces, and impressive views of the city from higher floors. However, issues such as thin walls, slow elevators, and occasional noise disturbances were also mentioned. Overall, IV's design provides a sense of personal space and comfort for residents, making it a popular choice, especially for freshmen.

I've been forcibly assigned to the tiny shit room in iv, I really hate this room. Very very small, bunk bed, no place to put your suitcase, no AC, no kitchen, forcibly meal plan and when two people try to get out, they get stuck because it's too narrow. The only good thing is that it is close to the campus.
Overall a solid building to live in, however I got a forced double and I cannot emphasize enough how it felt like sharing a prison cell. The lighting was dim, and we had almost no room to walk – much less two at a time. The bathroom was good and spacious though. I probably would live in IV again as long as I don't get a forced double, and instead get a single or true double.
Lived in a double suite here during my freshman year. Doubles connected by own personal bathroom and also dining hall right downstairs. Some downsides are that it's a little far from everything else on campus and expensive compared with other dorms on campus but overall had a great experience here.
I really liked it, I had a single there and it was located in a pretty nice spot. Right next to ruggles and there was a dining hall downstairs. Also 2 laundry rooms which was insane. It also had a gym located on the 2nd floor but it was closed when I was there due to covid. Would highly recommend
I lived here for quarantine housing during Spring of 2022. The room itself is a bit narrow, but it is fine for one person living. Very clean, and quiet with a window for natural sunlight. The bathroom is connected to another room so you will have to share another person (doors locked from both sides when you click a button). Would recommend this room if you're living by yourself. IV cafeteria too!
Not community bathroom you get your own bathroom to share with ONE other person, clean building, study spaces, dining hall, and gym. VERY NICE PLACE TO LIVE. If you get IV freshmen year, you are living a life of luxury at NEU!
If you live in a single, it is REALLT nice. A little cramped but you get the whole room to yourself and have a bathroom you share with ONE person which is so much better than commuter bathrooms. IV has their own dining hall, study spaces, and gym so you do not have to walk far in the cold Boston winters for food, exercise, or a place to study. Best place to live freshmen yr imo
im in a forced double (so splitting a room made for one person with two people). it is VERY tight but works out because i like my roomate :) we barely have any free space though. it would definitely be risky to go random with iv "doubles" because theyre so small. our suitemates (random) are really loud which gets inconvenient late at night. other than that iv as a building is super nice, the dining hall is considered the "best" on campus, and its all new and updated. i dont mind the location and the orange line (ruggles) is super convenient for getting into boston.
I lived here before there were forced doubles and triples. I was in a regular double and it was pretty nice. The location is kind of far from the rest of campus and ruggles stairs are killer when it's icy, but global warming is doing it's thing so. The classrooms there are also nice to watch movies/play games with friends at night. There's also a sick ping pong table by the gym on the second floor. Also I think IV dining hall is better than Steast dining hall. During finals season first semester when it was cold out I did not leave the building.
The single suite in IV is very nice— only downside is that it’s SUPER PRICEY. However, has more space than I can use all by myself, and the bathroom is only shared with the 1 other person’s room attached to yours. The rooms are very clean; the bathrooms sometimes have a little gunk in the corners of the floor, like under the sink, but otherwise well-kept. Amenities include several laundries in the building, a gym, small-ish common areas on each floor, elevators, the largest dining hall on the first floor, and classroom spaces in the basement. It’s one of the newest residences at Northeastern, so the AC and heat work well. Would recommend!
