Is 110 St. Stephen Street the best dorm at Northeastern?

Students rated 110 St. Stephen Street a 3.4/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

110 St. Stephens is a bit of a toss-up quality-wise. On one hand it is very close to everything you could need on campus, but compared to other northeastern dorms there are quite a few negative aspects. For one, if your room faces the alley (at least half of the rooms do) there’s very loud trash pickup at like 7 a.m. every day. At least twice a week the trash guys accidentally set off an alarm that’s ridiculously loud, and we always had to call NUPD to get them to turn it off. The kitchen is tiny but has everything you need, really only space for one person at a time. The bathroom is also small but satisfactory - the shower water smells kinda weird, just don’t drink it. Unfortunately the showers are kinda grossly tiny so it’s difficult to not touch the shower curtain (ew!) Also if you’re on an upper floor you’ll have to climb a few flights of stairs to do your laundry because there is no elevator. Also there is no printer :( I must say I really didn’t mind it too much, despite these complaints! The location is soo perfect and if you get along with your roommate the tiny size is really not too bad. It’s one of the more affordable dorms (like $1200/mo compared to like $1600ish for like west and stuff) which is a plus. Overall, I would probably only pick 110 St. Stephen if your only other option is IV or something wildly out of your price range.

It did had some obvious flaws. But I didn't think it was too bad, I have no horror stories and I could imagine spending another semester here if necessary. - It is right next to the campus, it didn't take long to walk to the other buildings - My dorm had a small hallway, bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom / main room. The hallway and kitchen were really small but the main room size was decent - There was laundry downstairs and a common room which had AC. I don't think many people used the common room though - No elevator but I think there are only 1 or 2 floors, and no crowding around the elevator like EV / IV. So I consider this a pro - No AC and it gets really hot in the summer. I'm someone who almost never gets hot and I still think it was too hot. You need to get a good fan - It's dirty. St. Stephens Street are old brick buildings. In my case this was worse because my roommate was a slob - The view is bad, at least my room it was a brick wall - At the end of the semester there were loud garbage trucks sometimes at 3AM, which made it hard to sleep. But I didn't notice this until the last few weeks, so maybe they're not always there.

I would live here again only for the purpose of location. The building is old with obvious flaws and the street can get really loud especially on a lower floor.
