Is Sledd Hall the best dorm at UF?

Students rated Sledd Hall a 2.5/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

Awful. I lived in a Two Room Double and it wasn't great. There were popcorn walls, dirty classroom tile flooring, roaches in the building, old communal bathrooms with ventilation problems, and cleanliness issues. My room in particular had a broken A/C the entire year, and it was never properly fixed. Every room in Sledd Hall (as well as other dorms in the Murphree Area) is different; you never know what you're going to get exactly. My room was unevenly divided; my roommate and I had a very small front room and a very large backroom. Additionally, my particular building was designed like a maze; there were long, angled hallways. We had a kitchen, but it was never kept clean. One of the bathrooms on my floor also had a shower head that was rusted and the water didn't seem safe to use. The air-vents in the bathroom are usually very dusty and dirty.

I was lucky and got a three room triple so me and my two roommates each got our own single rooms plus a common area and a bathroom to ourselves. The rooms were pretty big but that’s about it. The building is old, but not too much of a problem for me. There are a ton of bugs even on the third floor. And each floor only has one kitchen which is small, and that’s the only real common area. As a freshman I found it hard to meet new people. It’s also very far away from everything on campus.

I have a single but for the cheapest price on campus the small space can be justified. I haven't had any issues with bugs. Natural light here is nice but be aware depending on your floor it can be very quiet or antisocial.
