Its one of the few dorms on campus where you can have your own bathroom and kitchen instead of a communal living situation. I bunked my bed with my roommate and that made it really roommy inside, but I didn't ever spend much time there anyways. The kitchen was great and I cooked a lot. Bathrooms were cleaned weekly. I spent a lot of time in the Beaty Commons as well. Really not much to complain about. Freshman year in Beaty was probably the cheapest way to a bougie lifestyle in a dorm.
Ugh TERRIBLE dorm. You can hear a PIN drop in the common area. Expect to be up all night if your suitemates are inconsiderate. Location is extremely far from anything and the room is tiny and ugh just awful. Worst dorm ive ever lived in at uf. Our bathroom didn’t even have a lock so you would just need to pray nobody came in
I would recommend this dorm for any first year on campus. You get a private bathroom, kitchen, and a pretty spacious bedroom to share with one other person (depends on how you setup beds). Location is a little further from the center of campus but its a 10 minute walk to get anywhere. Only downside id say is its not the most social dorm, so if you don't make friends outside of your living area in the beginning it could feel like an isolated environment.
Pros: Private bathroom and they give you free tp every week. Having a private kitchen and dining area is a major plus since I didn't get the meal plan and prefer to cook. Nice location especially being right above the POD which is a convenient type-store. Good windows and lighting. Cons: Lived on the 14th floor and with one elevator on average working, so getting to the bottom floor can take a while, especially during the class rush. Rooms are pretty small but not the worst, however you only have one desk to share with another person. There is however a "Double desk/table/Counter top" in the dining room that two people can use as a desk.
Laundry room is on the first floor, so it's a pain to bring stuff down from the higher up floors. loved the view, so the high floors have that perk. bedroom space is limited but an L-config will help that. closet is a built-in with nice overhead storage and four drawers. bathroom is okay, crappy tile but it did the job. shower with a bathtub, but ours didn't have a plug and i probably wouldn't take a bath in there anyway. voluntarily returning :) best dorm on campus
Building and elevator are very old, but the apartment style is a huge plus compared to other UF dorms
Apartment-style. The bedrooms themselves are smaller, but you get the common room with one other bedroom. This means 4 people are sharing a smallish common area. Each room has it's own bathroom and kitchenette, although the kitchen area is really small and has little counter space. The kitchen has an oven, a stove, and a fridge/freezer with no ice maker. Anything else you'll have to buy yourself. The bathroom is 'cleaned' weekly, but the cleaning is pretty limited and basically amounts to just refilling the toilet paper. There are only 2 elevators in each building. When one of them goes down, you could be waiting quite a while, and running into filled or packed elevators. On the off chance both go down (which has happened), you may be stuc...
I loved beaty towers! the individual rooms were pretty small, but if you set the beds up in an L-shape or bunked, you’d have plenty of room. the location is great, at most a 10-15 minute walk to my farthest class. beaty is apartment style, so there were 4 people sharing a decent sized kitchen area (with fridge, stove, oven, and sink), and we shared a bathroom which worked out well for all of my roommates. i think beaty is a little bit less social compared to other dorms since there is no common area for each floor, but there is a nearby game and hangout room for all of beaty where i met a few friends during some planned residence hall events! the building isn’t a luxury building at all, and no dorm building really is, but it was a great pla...
Having 4 people to a dorm (2 per bedroom) can be a bit much, but having our own kitchen and bathroom makes up for it in my opinion.
