Newly renovated with hardwood floors and cooling system that is controlled by the individuals in the room and not by the building. It's a 12 minute walk to the center of campus but busses are constantly running and honestly it's nice to come how to an area that feels separate from the hustle and bustle of classes. Really nice pond and greenery outside great places for a picnic or to hammock. Cleanest, newest feeling dorms on campus besides Cypress.
Loved the hardwood flooring, and the location was kind of far from classes but the busses were always running and had multiple locations where I could catch one. One of the best dorms by far and the Chomp It was an extra bonus.
Simpson is actually decent. Newly renovated with hardwood floors and a decent cooling system. My floor was pretty social but I’ve heard Broward/Jennings are fun too. Location could not be better if you plan on rushing and the late night pod market is clutch. Bathrooms can get gross like any dorm. Would stay here again
In the best shape of most double dorm rooms UF offers. The rooms were very roomy and the built-ins offer a lot of storage. You shouldn’t have trouble fitting all your things in your room. The kitchen is small but you can definitely prepare meals there. The bathrooms are kept very very clean, cleaned every day.
Simpson is definitely one of the better locations for incoming freshmen or even returning undergrads. It's close to several bus stops around the Graham Area, but if you wanted to walk to the center of campus that is also doable. It's close to Gator Corner (no more than 10 minutes max), and with it being so recently renovated the quality of the building overall is great.
Simpson has some of the newest renovations of any dorm. You don't really have to worry about mold, or funny smells because it had great central AC. It's a 11min. walk away from the center of campus but it's also right next to several major bus routes. The dining hall is a 6 minute walk and Chomp It is right downstairs. Lots of great outdoors, hammock space around Simpson and a cute little lake. Also it's one of the dorms where there are less people a floor, 40 something vs. 60 something plus.
A lot of people look over Simpson Hall but honestly it was great for my freshman year. I lived in a triple but one girl moved out before the fall semester started so it ended up being a double with extra furniture. The rooms are large enough that you can have everything you would really need with some organization. I had a fridge and two black draw carts in the room next to my table and I still had space. The bathrooms were cleaned very well and the custodians were really nice too. There's also chomp it mini dining center downstairs where you can get food and other necessities late at night. It's also only a 5 minute walk away from the Reitz Union, 5 minutes walk from the dining hall, and about 10 minutes from the HUB which every one paces ...
Loved living here my freshman year. It is a little further from classes than other dorms but it has 2 bus stops nearby so i could usually reach my classes in about 10 minutes from leaving. The Chomp It in the area has great chicken tenders and is open until 3 am. The bathrooms are cleaned every weekday and only had problems with some people forgetting to flush on the weekends. The AC works great and you are able to open the windows if it's nice out. The one time we had issues with the AC it was resolved in a timely manner. There are no elevators except the frieght elevators which are only used for move in/out but most dorms at UF don't have them. The area has a really nice room with a projector which we used to play video games with the pe...
Recently updated, so it doesn't feel old dirty like some other dorm areas. The bathroom are communal (approx. 50 people per bathroom) which can get pretty gross, but thpey are cleaned daily except on the weekends. There is a pool and pod market/chomp it on the ground level.
