Is The Towers the best dorm at BU?

Students rated The Towers a 3.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

Worst dorm I have lived at while studying at BU. I was in a Double with a random and it was truly awful. The room is way to small, the bathroom quickly becomes disgusting hours within its weekly cleaning. The elevators are relatively slow. I would not recommend living in towers at all. the only benefit is being close to Bay State dining hall and any classes in East Campus.

I found the Towers to be bearable because my best friends ended up living next door, otherwise, it is pretty dead. I also lived on the second floor with no view and my floor was very quiet and boring. I have been on other floors which seem to be more lively so I think it just depends where you are. The bathrooms are not the best but it's all I know since I am a freshman. There is always construction and weird loud noises. Power goes out sometimes and they shut off the water at a weird time to do plumbing stuff. The room itself is a little larger than west dorms but I would say comparable to warren size. I hate the lofted beds just not for me. The location is very much on one side of campus which was difficult at times since I had classes in west but now I have a greater appreciation for east campus. This side is definitely more of a sophisticated pretty city vibe while west is more of a frat college vibe. I personally would want to live on this side sophomore year and probably live in west freshman year. It is nice though to have marciano as our dining hall which is supposed to be the best but it is a 2 min walk to the dining hall. The vegan/kosher dining hall is also about a 4 minute walk away which I started to use a lot towards the end of the semester since I am vegetarian and I think their food just tastes better cause it is made in smaller batches. Overall I would not recommend the towers for a freshman or anyone who wants a more social atmosphere.

Pros is that it's central to campus, on Bay State road, and near the dining hall. It also has laundry in the building and a few good study places as well as a mailroom. Other than that though this dorm is depressing and feels like a jail. The rooms are extremely cramped and there are virtually no common areas on the floors - just a couch and a table at the end of the hallway. Poor lighting in the rooms which is not good during winter. Definitely would try as hard as possible not to live here but if you do end up living in the Towers, you'll be in a good location and I would try to spend as much time as possible NOT in your room!

Honestly, I’d rather live in Warren. The bathroom on my floor in particular is disgusting and the shower drains are permanently clogged, giving the showers a stale moldy smell. Its a bit small to share with another person (tho me and my roommate have quite a bit of stuff). If you deloft your bed, you don’t have room for anything. But the location is awesome. I love living on bay state, and it’s so close to Blandford

Kind of dorm you're forced to take. Great location but cramped where you're forced to make friends, except there's not a lot of people around to make friends with.
