Is South Campus Apartments the best dorm at BU?

Students rated South Campus Apartments a 3.9/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

2 Buswell is INCREDIBLY small apartments, which have NO living space really and are basically a long line with the kitchen in the middle. If you set the apartments up with two singles, as BU sets them up, only one will have a door, and you will have to walk through one person’s room to get to the kitchen/bathroom/other room. There is very little closet space and the rooms themselves fit about max 5 CRAMPED people at a time, they a smaller than traditional dorm rooms. There is a kitchen but no microwave is provided because there is only about a foot of counter space. Would recommend not living here if possible. However, unlike other buildings in South Campus we had no issues with rodents or bugs, and there is laundry in the basement (coins only).

South apartments are the oldest dorms at BU (I think) and it shows. The elevator is super out-dated and if someone accidentally leaves the gate slightly open, it won't function and you will have to use the stairs. It's nice that it's an apartment with your own kitchen, but it's small and old. I'd honestly prefer a nicer communal kitchen, but it's nice to have your own fridge. The bathroom is kinda gross and old as well. The only thing I really liked was location. It was pretty central to the rest of BU - not like West or Myles. But there are other apartments like Whitestones that are also central that's newer. It had laundry machines in the basement which I liked since I know some people didn't have this.

Massive basement quad on Beacon Street. Living room was the size of like a triple, truly a great amount of space. Bathroom was shitty bc it had no windows and the roof leaked. Cons: my roof leaked for three months straight and facilities did nothing about it. On the bug issue, the worst was the occasional millipede.

We had a mouse problem which was not cool. That's probably to be expected in a building of that age, but definitely something to be aware of if you're particularly squeamish. We were on the third floor, so moving in and out was a pain in the neck. Definitely my favorite location of anywhere I lived at BU. Proximity to Fenway was great.

Cockroaches in the building. Even after 3 months of spraying they were still there. Facilities didn't respond to our numerous requests of paint chipping and infestation. Stay advised! Location is great tho!
