I lived in thatcher all four years, first 3 on the 2nd floor, senior year 4th floor. It was one of the last 3 all male dorms and considered a jock dorm. We won the Chancellor,s cup for. Most points for all intramural sports, 8th in football and 1st in softball, many of us played varsity sports. My roommate and I from Lake George NY wrestled there under Homer Barr. I still have my key to the dorm but doubt it still works. Some of the. Thatcher hall of famers, Rick Smith, George Koerner, Joe Aiello, Pete Shea, Steve Jabaut, Ed Sabagh, Vince Glomb, Best 4 years! Pros: - Big room (Compared to Doubles around campus, this room is very big) - Great Location (Super close to many classes (Goessman, Engineering Lab, LGRC, ILC, Morill) and Worcestor Dining hall, and not that far from Campus Center, Library, Student Union - Lounge on every floor plus a nice lounge plus kitchen in the basement - Pretty nice bathrooms, reliable showers - Water dispenser on every floor - Nice quiet area of living - Right next to Thatcher Road (back area nice for unloading and packing things Cons: - Doesn't have amenities like ping pong table, or pool table like in Johnson Hall for example

Speaking for doubles in Thatcher, they are much bigger than most rooms in campus. There's enough room where you can move you rearrange your furniture without feeling claustrophobic. There are walk in closets which help with the openness feel of the room. The bathrooms in my opinion are on the nicer side. Beside the size of the rooms, location is probably the biggest pro. Its located in the Northeast residential area, and sits basically next to Worchester dinning hall. Its also near a lot of classes students will be going to. The only real con would be that there is no sort of "game" table in the lounge. Most dorms have either one or a combination of ping pong/pool/foosball table, but Thatcher as none of them.
