Prince Hall Reviews
University of Massachusetts Amherst Southwest Area
Reviews Summary
Prince Hall, located in the Southwest residential area of the campus, is a dorm known for its spacious rooms and convenient proximity to dining halls like Hamp and Berk. The dorm is popular for its large rooms which offer ample space for students, making it stand out from other housing options on campus. Being a low-rise, multi-year community with break housing, Prince Hall attracts a diverse mix of international students and athletes. The dorm is situated close to the center of campus and features a bus stop right outside, providing easy access to transportation. While the location is a major plus for residents, some students have mentioned concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms, citing issues with trash and vomit. Additionally, noise levels can escalate on the weekends, affecting the overall living experience. Despite these drawbacks, Prince Hall remains a desirable choice for students seeking a lively living environment near key campus amenities.

Pros - Amazing location, amazing people, bus stop right in front. I’ve lived in prince hall for my sophomore here and I had the best of my experience
Great location and good dorm for those who don’t want to live in a low rise. Bathrooms are kind of gross but bearable i guess. The rooms are big and its close to the rest of campus.
Rooms and location are good but the bathroom is kind of gross. Overall good form and better than some of the pthers
Nice room, definitely the quietest building in South West, a little bit more expensive because it’s break housing, but worth it imo.
I live in a double at the end of my hall in Prince. To be honest, this is the best room on campus. Massive room, huge windows and faces the sunset. For Prince, there are a lot of international students and athletes. Probably the quietest building in southwest. It’s also the closest to the center of campus.
The rooms are big and spacious. Prince is in Southwest so you’re near the dining halls , Bus Stop and an active part of campus .
good room sizes. compared to the rest of the campus prince room sizes will probably google you the space you need however everything else is eh
The rooms are very spacious which is the one pro to Prince, however the downside is that the bathrooms are always dirty. The janitors be working double time just for the residents to trash it. Prince is right outside of both Hamp and Berk so that is nice. Overall, its alright.
People trash the bathrooms, vomit in every crevice you can find, private bathroom reeks, smell has been stuck there for weeks.
Prince Hall located in the Southwest residential area is a low-rise, multi-year community, and break housing dorm. The closest dining halls are Hamp and Berk which are just a 3 or 5-minute walk away respectively. The dorm rooms are very spacious and there is a closed-off reading room which is a nice place to study. Although the dorm is located far away from most of the campus, there is a bus stop just outside the dorm. The main negatives of this dorm include very limited bathroom stalls and showers, not enough washers/dryers for the number of residents, and being very loud and noisy on the weekends. Overall, if you do not mind these negatives it is not a bad option for students looking to live on campus.
