"I was in a double in an Ellsworth 7-person during the 2019-2020 academic year. The layout is good, even though the buildings show their age. Rooms are decently sized with ample storage and individual climate control. Kitchen and bathrooms are to be cleaned by residents. The kitchen comes with an electric stovetop/oven, fridge/freezer, and sink/storage. Bring your own microwave! Bathroom scheduling can be a bit of a mess in the morning. It is HIGHLY encouraged to install a shower curtain between the shower and the rest of the bathroom to facilitate multiple users. Buildings are literally across the street from the back of Stoddard/Morgan and a very quick walk to anywhere on campus. There is a parking lot as well as laundry under one of the buildings in the complex. Waste disposal/recycling is by unit 15. Overall, not too bad if you organize amongst yourselves."

"I lived in a double suite, which means that I had just one roommate and a bathroom to ourselves. For this reason, the space was always clean and generally great to live in. The location is pretty good in some aspects, with unity hall being across the street and having a restaurant + Starbucks downstairs. However, it is pretty far from the middle of campus. Morgan dining hall and the gym are a long walk, but the campus is pretty compact so it isn't too bad. The building is old and the rooms are generally pretty warm. This could be because I lived on the third floor. If you don't want to have your fan on or like sleeping in a colder room, I would advise you to try to get a room on the lower floors."

"Best Dorm for freshmen. I mean it has its drawbacks like every dorm, especially since its all first years, but it gives good sense of community. The chairs were not comfy tho."

"It's like your own little shitty apartment. An important first moment for any young adult. I lived in a group of 5, one double one triple. In retrospect it's not a great dorm after living in other ones. But it's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. A very fun time if you like your roommates."

"It was a nice place to live in. The loop allowed you to meet new people and the common room was big enough for movie nights. I don't know if this is still a problem but the half of the hall with the girls bathroom gets uncomfortably hot when they turn on the heat in Nov (at least on the 4th floor)."

"Definitely the best freshman option. The super tall ceilings makes all the rooms feel big and it’s only too hot for like 3 weeks of the year."

"Probably one of the nicest dorms on campus second only to East Hall. Faraday basically has the same amenities as East, it's just farther away from campus. Honestly I got used to the walk pretty quick, and it's really not as bad as some people (generally people who haven't lived in Faraday) seem to make it out to be. I could leave 10 minutes before a class and still be there with time to spare (depending on where your class is). The only other complaint was the heating/AC thermostats in some of the rooms were just flat-out wired wrong when the building was constructed. On top of this Res Services/Facilities is unwilling to even try to resolve these issues. Unless you're willing to take matters into your own hands, so to speak, be prepared for the fact that the A/C might just not work in half of your apartment (I don't really know how widespread this issue is, but I know my apartment wasn't the only one with A/C issues)."

"Very good experience living in Messenger. Each floor (i believe) has access to laundry, communal bathroom, and 2 handicap accessible bathrooms. Showers are decent. Rooms are fairly nice, especially with AC in the summer time. Nice big window in the rooms with desk and dressers you can move around. Definitely a top tier spot on campus as far as access to classes, dining halls, mailroom, quad, etc."

"Stoddard is great for the right person. Downsides: you have to walk across the street to get breakfast and there is not a crosswalk at that corner, the sound carries a bit so i would recommend getting a sound strip for under your door Upsides: smaller community with floors separated by gender (ideal for when you lock yourself out of your room by accident), the bathrooms are the most remodeled of the freshnman dorms (doesn't say a lot but there's no mold and everything is relatively clean), single dorms fit a single bed, desk, mini fridge, dresser and microwave comfortably (the closet is open so i put my maximimum size you can have mini fridge in there with the microwave and the dresser under the bed so the rest of the space is very open). THE COMMON ROOM HAS AC. All of the dorms get super hot and you are not permitted to have an AC unit so this was an amazing way to meet people in the building. You are a bit separated from the rest of the dorms, but they are super close and you don't have to deal with the more noisy people. Only recommendation for stod is you HAVE to go socialize with people other than stod your first term or you will feel stuck with a friend group you did not select which was rather stressful for some people. Joining a club is a great way to do this."

"This is the best place to live on campus, bar none. Absolutely beautiful building, it's like living in a good hotel (clean, well maintained, private) but better. You get a decently sized kitchen in every suite and separate shower and restroom, along with two bathroom sinks in each suite. I have had the unique situation of living in the three different suite types available in East due to living there my junior and senior year as well as a summer session and I can say for certain that all of East is fantastic."
