Very good experience living in Messenger. Each floor (i believe) has access to laundry, communal bathroom, and 2 handicap accessible bathrooms. Showers are decent. Rooms are fairly nice, especially with AC in the summer time. Nice big window in the rooms with desk and dressers you can move around. Definitely a top tier spot on campus as far as access to classes, dining halls, mailroom, quad, etc.
Great location, gorgeous bathrooms that are well maintained, new furniture, overall a really nice space. a single room, however, it’s approximately 3 twin xl beds in total area. it’s really small, and hard to keep the room open if you can’t have your bed on the highest height. the singles are also right behind tech suites, which had a tendency to get rowdy. my year also saw SEVERAL issues with the building. many rooms blew fuses by using too many appliances at once. leaving a window open lead to a burst pipe and flooded 5 total rooms and a stairwell. there were also recurring card access issues (more than I’d experienced in other residence halls).
Messenger doubles aren't too bad - while they are relatively small, they have AC, and come with decent furniture. The temperature range in the rooms never leaves the 60s, which is fine in the winter, but it gets chilly when you're wearing shorts and a T-shirt in the summer. Since Messenger is new (as of 2018-19) the furniture is in good shape, and is an adequate amount of storage for your average college student. Each floor has two washers and three dryers, same models as in Daniels. Each floor also has two tech suites, which are nice if you need to get some work done ...
