Faraday Hall Reviews
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Reviews Summary
Faraday Hall is one of the nicest dorms on campus, rivaled only by East Hall in terms of amenities. The dorm offers spacious rooms with modern conveniences, including a full-sized kitchen and a pleasant bathroom setup with multiple sinks, showers, and toilets, minimizing waiting times for roommates. Though it's approximately a 10-minute walk from campus, many residents quickly acclimate to the distance, and the route offers scenic views of Institute Park. Faraday Hall is typically quiet and features entertainment facilities such as a pool table and tech suites. However, some rooms have been reported to experience HVAC issues due to wiring problems, and a few toilets broke during the year but were repaired promptly. While slightly more expensive, Faraday is an excellent choice for students transitioning from dorm to apartment living. It also includes a parking lot, which adds convenience for those with vehicles. Overall, Faraday Hall provides a modern, comfortable living experience despite its minor drawbacks.

Probably one of the nicest dorms on campus second only to East Hall. Faraday basically has the same amenities as East, it's just farther away from campus. Honestly I got used to the walk pretty quick, and it's really not as bad as some people (generally people who haven't lived in Faraday) seem to make it out to be. I could leave 10 minutes before a class and still be there with time to spare (depending on where your class is).
The only other complaint was the heating/AC thermostats in some of the rooms were just flat-out wired wrong when the building was constructed. On top of this Res Services/Facilities is unwilling to even try to resolve these issues. Unless you're willing to take matters into your own hands, so to speak, be prepared f...

Faraday rooms have tons of space and nice bathrooms. The lobby has a pool table and a huge conference room, and the second, third, and fourth floors each have two tech suites. It's a bit of a walk from campus, but not that bad and you walk through Institute Park and get to see the swans every day, which I think is a plus when EEE isn't a concern.
It's overall pretty quiet. The courtyard is nice.
Only downside is like half the toilets broke halfway through the year, but that got fixed quickly.

Pros:
Kitchens have lots of space and a small attached table bar. If you live facing a street, you can watch homeless people smoke crack and eat each other from comfortable common areas. Each room has decent space.
Cons:
It’s a bit far from campus (~10 min walk), but it’s not that bad. It’s also one of the more expensive dorms.

Faraday is a great transition from dorm style to apartment style while still staying on campus. One great thing is the bathrooms because in your apartment of 4, there are two separate rooms for the toilet and the shower, and then there are two sinks in the hallway, so there is less of waiting for your roommate to be done in the bathroom. Everyone says the walk is bad, but unless you live in Messenger, Ellsworth, or Fuller, you're gonna have to walk up the hill after freshman year. To the places on campus that are closer to Faraday (FL, AK, Library, Goddard) the walk can be as little as 7-8 minutes, usually it averages to around 10 depending where on campus you're going. Faraday is also a much newer building which is nice if you're trying...

Faraday Hall features apartment style rooms that have their own kitchen and bathroom. You can either get a single or have a quad that's split into two singles and a double. Somewhat far from classes so it sucks a bit to walk but it also has its own parking lot, which is a plus.
