Morgan Hall Reviews

Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Reviews Summary

Morgan Hall emerges as a popular choice for freshmen at WPI, offering a strong sense of community despite some drawbacks. The convenience of its location is a major highlight, as it is connected to the dining hall and shares a complex with Daniels Hall, where laundry facilities are found, allowing students to stay comfortable even during harsh weather. The dorm's proximity to academic buildings and the gym adds to its appeal, minimizing the need for long walks to classes or facilities. While the rooms can feel cramped, particularly with forced triples, they are relatively spacious compared to other dorms on campus and have large windows enabling excellent ventilation and views. Students have mixed feelings about the room arrangements, but creative solutions like bunking beds with desks underneath have been beneficial. Although maintenance issues such as frequent fire alarms and heating problems have been reported, Morgan Hall remains an attractive option for fostering connections and enjoying a quintessential dorm experience with ease of access to essential services.

Best Dorm for freshmen. I mean it has its drawbacks like every dorm, especially since its all first years, but it gives good sense of community. The chairs were not comfy tho.

The best part of living in Morgan Hall is that it's connected to the dining hall as well as the laundry facilities in the basement of Daniels Hall, so half the time you need to do anything you can stay in your pajamas. It's also very close to the academic buildings and right next to the gym which is nice. However, the rooms are small as is and the forced triple doesn't make it any better. Morgan Hall also had a lot of maintenance issues when I was living there, including fire alarms going off for no reason, and the heating system overheating. The common area was disgusting. Overall 3 stars, could be worse but could be way better for what you're paying.

Morgan is probably the best dorm at WPI. In terms of bright hallways, ability to meet people, and just the comfy rooms. It is not a whole lot of space, but comparatively to other dorms at WPI, it is a lot. I enjoyed having the bunks, with my desk on the bottom, and also plenty of space to put my mountain bike. My roommate figured out that if you wanted a shelf you could tie together all three of the ladders in your room. Very useful. I would recommend this dorm to anyone coming to WPI.

Eh, not for me. Rooms are tight, I guess some people made friends but I spent literally no time there

10/10 in terms of cliche dorm living! Easy to make lots of friends on your and other floors. Super nice to be able to walk to the dining hall and not have to get bundled up in the winter. Large windows > Daniels windows, air was always easily circulated and everyone had a decent if not excellent view!

Solid dorm to live in freshman year. Easy access to basically everything, dining hall, tutoring center, laundry are all in the building complex of Morgan and Daniels. Somewhat low ceilings when in bed. All beds are lofted and must stay that way. Floor culture varies wildly by floor. Bathroom is average.

Morgan has very sizable rooms despite being triples, reasonably sized bathrooms for each floor that rarely left me waiting, decently sized common rooms with a large TV and furniture also on each floor, and is located right above the dining hall and just across the quad from most of the academic buildings, meaning you'll rarely have to walk far to get to class. The rooms have individually controlled heating, but no AC, and large windows that can be opened to screens. Morgan Hall is still quite new and in generally great shape, although laundry is quite far away being in the basement of Daniels, so while it is technically in the same building, it's in the opposite corner.

Rooms are good sized despite being triples. Located in the same building as DACA and connected to Riley Hall, which has laundry. Good during snowy weather since you don't have to leave for necessities other than class.
