Definitely the best freshman option. The super tall ceilings makes all the rooms feel big and it’s only too hot for like 3 weeks of the year.

Great location, beautiful building on the outside. All classes, dining hall, and laundry are close by. The bathrooms were disgusting and only truly, thoroughly cleaned once or twice a term. With so many students all sharing the common bathroom it got dirty quickly and stayed dirty. The quad rooms are a bit small but the triples and doubles have more room per person.

I had a single in riley and it was honestly fantastic. if you're someone that enjoys alone time, definitely opt for the single! the rooms are so spacious and never felt cramped, and my floor only had 7 girls for a bathroom with two stalls and two showers, so having to wait to use the bathroom was never a problem. very clean overall, although I know the first floor had an issue with a silverfish infestation, but I think they've replaced the carpet since then. sucked having to walk across for laundry/dining hall but in the grand scheme of things it was no big deal at all.

The dorm (bathrooms, hallways, common room) were not cleaned as often as I would have liked, but this can be said for most of the dorms at WPI. Bathroom drains got clogged and took maybe a few days to two weeks to fix. Overall my favorite dorm because of the spaciousness. By far the highest ceilings and most spacious rooms of all the hill dorms. Love and miss Riley!

If you don't want roommates take the single! No regrets and you don't even miss out on any social interaction, the whole floor/building usually mingles very well

Riley is the best WPI Freshman dorm imho. Sure, the building is old but that just gives it charm. The rooms are more spacious than Morgan and Daniels and have more interesting room layouts. I love the way the furniture in my triple was organized, and it made me feel like I actually had a little privacy from my roommates. The bathrooms are alright, basically your typical shared dorm bathroom. Common room had a sink (2nd floor) which was nice for washing dishes. People will say Morgan and Daniels are the best because they're attached to the dining hall, but Riley is literally a <1 minute walk from there and sometimes it's nice to be forced to leave your dorm building. Big rooms with windows that actually open (unlike all other halls). On the first floor the ceiling in the rooms is crazy high. Great community feel and is literally one minute from academic buildings.
