Is Stearns East Hall the best dorm at CU Boulder?

Thought an apartment style room would be cool, think again. Roomate’s kept the place a mess so kitchen was basically unusable anyways. Provided furniture was kinda gross and dingy, how I’d describe the general atmosphere of the room. 2 washers per floor seems like a fine idea until the washers on the floors above and below us broke, so now it was 2 washers for 3 floors. Did my wash in Darley for a month. On top of that, elevators were constantly breaking (I lived on the 11th floor...). It’s no surprise we had a rep as being the worst dorm on the worst part of campus, at least that was my experience in 2016-2017.

It’s okay. It was nice having our own “apartment” as a freshman. However the 2 bedrooms for 4 people were really unbalanced. 1 room was significantly smaller than the other. Bathroom and kitchen were fine. Hated the provided couch (so uncomfortable). Getting a chance at the washer/dryers were such a hit or. It’s on our floor. I think I was on floor 10? I’d end up just going to the base level for laundry, and sometimes they weren’t all up and running. One time the water heater got busted and half the upper floors didn’t get hot water. That was a fun cold shower morning... got fixed in a day though. It was difficult for me to make friends. 2/3 of my roommates became awesome friends though. They just preferred the sorority/frat/party life more than me. And the other one just ended up being a micromanager. But that’s a roommate dilemma over the actual dorm. Anyways, making friends was difficult for me there. Having a gym and dining hall Right outside was awesome. Of course the buff bus, you had to leave extra early to get to class on time. Plan like 40 minutes before your class.

I had a single, it was nice, but the building itself is old, be warned. There was a ladybug infestation previously and it’s the most likely building to have a fire alarm go off, its location close to the will vill dining hall is very convenient, same with the bus stop to get to main campus.
