Is Buckingham Hall the best dorm at CU Boulder?

Students rated Buckingham Hall a 4.2/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.

I had high hopes for this dorm coming in fall 23. I am in a triple which was an interesting situation. The bathroom on our floor N1 is disgusting. Some of the guys on that floor like to pee with the door open, not put the seat up, not flush, and not wash their hands. EW. The floor is sticky because of pee. the cleaning person gotta be fighting for her life when she cleans it. The showers are also gross, as expected. just bring shoes and you're fine. there are two tiny shower stalls and one big one with a sink so if you get the big ones in the morning it's not too bad. Overall it's pretty quiet, that kind of depends on the people on your floor, however. The commrap events are sorta fun, not many people go but usually they bring nice takeout food, so that's a plus. One major con is it's the furthest dorm from the central campus (other than Will vill) which has its upsides but it also takes a little bit to get to class, just something to consider.

Buckingham was a good dorm. The rap classes were nice to have. Since it wasn’t on main campus it was very quiet and calm but a 30 min walk to most classes and the rec

Buckingham is such a nice building. The rooms are really spacious, air-conditioned, and its a newer building with lots of study rooms and a movie room. Due to Covid this year I didn't get the full experience of what life in Buckingham hall would be, but because spent a lot of time in my dorm doing my classes it was definitely one of the more ideal dorms I would have liked to spend my time in. Its nice that the dumpsters are really close and access to the road and parking lot so if you have a car, need to take an uber, or pick up door dash, it's ideal to just walk out the back door and get a ride. There is a gorgeous view of the Kittridge pond but that also means its a longer walk to get to school buildings. I had my own bathroom so I didn't need to use the public ones but the public ones have about 4 toilets and 3 showers so there isn't a lot of privacy compared to other dorms which have individual bathrooms. Overall I think Buckingham is a good choice if you're CMCI

Since this is the CMCI Residential Academic Program, the majority of students are either CMCI or A&S students. Bathrooms are amazing (except for when students decide to do weird stuff when drunk, etc). Great way to take classes within the dorm and meet likeminded creative people as well. Nice peaceful spot around the Kittridge ponds. Maximum add to your walking commute to classes is about 5-6 minutes which was hardly noticeable for me.

I absolutely loved living in Buckingham my freshman year. I met all of my friends through the dorm and spent so much time with them in class, as we were studying the same thing, and outside of class, like going to football games, pearl street, and the flatirons. The rooms were super nice and the whole building was renovated and felt super comfortable. There were so many nice features in Buck that many dorms do not have, such as the classrooms for RAP classes, study and lounge spaces, and the movie/media maker rooms. I recommend Buckingham for everyone studying within CMCI.
