Is Darley South Hall the best dorm at CU Boulder?

My time in Darley sucked mando donkey dick. Bathrooms sucked ass. There was literal cum all over a stall door that crusted on and remained for about 2 months before it was cleaned. The ac/heating spewed dust all over the room so everything was always dusty and we couldn't control it at all anyway so if it decided that we weren't already sweaty enough we were in for a hot night. Some dorms didn't even have ac, so I was thankful, but honestly just a fan would have helped more. On top of that same as everyone else said about the building being super old and crusty. Couches in the seating areas must be 20 years old and they smell like it too. The location was ok considering the bus stop and the dining hall were nearby, but you're not even on campus anyway so it doesn't even matter because you have to cram onto the freakin buff bus with everyone else anyway. Also the washing machines broke constantly. I spent 3 hours just trying to find a washer that would actually do a spin cycle. And the elevators broke constantly. Really awesome that I paid out of state tuition to be shoved in some shitty off campus building where everything is old and unreliable. Also, not directly related, but the village center dining hall served a lot of food that was wayyy undercooked. Like im talking chicken that was downright raw. And overheard one of the head cooks approve undercooked turkey to be served because "they don't care". They try to give you salmonella and your "new home" is a box :^)

Listen, this wasn't an absolutely horrible experience but I truly believe that Darley might be the worst dorm on campus. It has none of the amenities that other dorms have. Everything is old and the elevator was always breaking. Other dorms have nice seating areas but the only thing we had was the "crossovers" between buildings which all had a few tables and nasty old couches. And we had no community kitchen and very little private bathrooms! I promise that living here you can still have an amazing college experience (I did!) but the fact remains that this is the worst dorm in Will Vill. And Will Vill already sucks so it just compounds that. I was so jealous of the kids in East and North because they had updated, amazing new buildings while we had an eyesore lol. The only good thing I have to say is that the small floor sizes did allow for a lot of bonding between all of us, which was fun.

Darley South is definitely the worst dorm in WillVill. It doesn’t have any of the amenities other dorms have. The elevators broke down multiple times over the year and weren’t fixed for days, leaving people to walk up 12 flights of stairs. Also, we had a bug infestation that just was not dealt with. There are very few common areas that aren’t used for studying and the laundry machines broke down frequently. It was nice being by the bus stop but that was about the only good thing. I was in a quad with a private bathroom and the room and bathroom weren’t bad. Although, our heater/AC was broken for the majority of the year (called maintenance in multiple times) and blasted out 80 degree air. It was never fixed. It is more so the building and maintenance itself that isn’t great, especially compared to WillVill North and East.
