Is Sewall Hall the best dorm at CU Boulder?
Students rated Sewall Hall a 3.9/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
GET READY TO PARTY FUCKING GEEDS. WELCOME TO THE DORM OF PLEDGES. Seriously, even though I had a great time here. At least 75% of everyone you meet is in a fucking sorority or frat. However if that’s your thing, or if you can deal with it. It’s pretty fun. Pros: People here are pretty extroverted and outgoing. If you can talk you’ll make friends here. Rooms are pretty spacious, and you won’t be cramped. Even singles got a good amount of space. There is a dining hall, and their breakfast is pretty good. Location is great!! Classes are generally pretty close, and you’re right by the gym! RAP available that focuses on history and mostly gen Ed’s. Cons: LOUD AF Dining hall food is garbage if it’s not breakfast or 2-5 pm. Bathrooms are super dirty 24/7.
My single was an adequate size. BRING FANS you will need them. There is no AC so in the spring and early fall you will sweat bullets. The men's bathroom was always nasty, may have just been the people living there that year. The dining hall food is BOMB . com They literally would offer full dressed up burritos, brisket steak, gyros, and other yummy things. You are super close to the REC and classes. I got super in shape being here. I could literally walk to classes in like 4 minutes it was so nice. Hated that they make you get your mail from chey ho.
Sewall is literally the best! I had 0 idea which dorm I wanted when I applied for housing but PICK SEWALL!! If you put it as your #1 choice, you'll probably get it since everyone wants baker and libby. The location of Sewall literally cannot be beat. If you are an arts and sciences major you will be SO CLOSE to your classes (which is especially awesome in the snow). You are also super close to the rec, which makes it easy to get active. Also super close to the library which pushed me to get out of my room and study! The Sewall dining hall is such an awesome perk too, helps you meet people in your dorm and the food is usually pretty good! Breakfast here is by far the best. The walk to the C4C gets tough in the winter so you will appreciate having a dining hall AND market. I utilized the market a lot if I wanted a snack or needed medicine or something. The building is definitely old but it's kept very clean. The bathrooms here are not as scary as people make them seem, they are actually very clean. I got lucky and got a corner room and it's honestly the biggest room for a double that I've ever seen across college campuses. The quads here are awesome! Huge room with 6 windows and a balcony that overlooks the campus. I've enjoyed the community here in Sewall and my RA is awesome! Definitely pick Sewall! The front desk has great events and gives out free food like coffee and donuts and bagels often. You can also check out games and cleaning supplies! The only downside is that 1) There is no AC and 2) There are no elevators. The stairs really aren't that bad (there are only 5 floors) and the dorms are hot for the first 2 weeks but then it gets nice once it cools down a bit. Bring 2+ fans and you'll be fine! It's worth it!!
