Main Campbell Hall

"Bathroom was pretty recently renovated, it was nice. I didn't find the kitchen for months, and it was gross from people using it and not cleaning up after. Location was great. Right on the Drillfield, center of the entire campus, nothing was far. Other dorms may have been closer to specific places, like one of the dining halls, or some of the classrooms, but we were fairly equidistant from them all. And I loved being right on the Drillfield, able to go out and play Frisbee or football at the drop of a hat." - 4 years ago

West Eggleston Hall

"This dorm is definitely the best in terms of location. You are right on the drillfield and it takes 5 minutes tops to get to any of your classes. War memorial gyms is also right next to it and the best dining hall (IMO) Owens is right next to it as well. Easy access to dunkin in the mornings if you want. No ac is definitely a bummer but a couple box fans on the window will work just fine. The dorm feels a little gloomy sometimes and not as lively as some of the other bigger dorms but you can definitely have a good time. As stated by others, rooms on the stairwell are almost double that of the ones in the main halls. Had some issues with the bathroom with water pressure and temperature but was fixed halfway in the year. Pro tip is to use the handicap shower as it’s a private room with consistent hot water :). Also no elevator so if you are a boy definitely go for the ground floor. Girls are in the middle floor when I was at wegg." - 4 years ago

Slusher Hall

"This place slaps. Fire alarms wake me up at 3am for among us challenge. Luckily there is no ac in this building. That way no one can vent. Exterior is an astonishing work of art. Designed by some of the top engineers at the prestigious Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. This building, given the address 201 Ag Quad Lane, is most certainly one of the best buildings on this fine campus. Located near the gourmet dining halls D2, West End, and Owens, this building is prime real estate. If you are an incoming freshman, I highly recommend this residence halls. I recommend selecting a 12th floor penthouse suite in the tower because you can get a beautiful view of the mountains and you get access to the pool on the on the roof. Living on the 12th floor of Slusher Tower gives you the feeling of living on Manhattan's Upper East Side, except you're in Blacksburg. Select a room in Slusher quick as they tend to run out quick!!! Good luck fellow Hokies🦃!!!!!!!" - 2 years ago

New Hall West
based on 7 reviews
"This is by far the best dorm on campus. The rooms are spacious, you have air conditioning, and each room as it's own bathroom. The only real downsides are that you are kinda far from most everything except one dining hall and it is not a very social dorm. For anyone staying on campus your second or higher year, I would recommend this, but not for freshman, since you won't have many chances to meet anyone in the dorm unless you go out of your way to." - 4 years ago

Lee Hall

"If you enjoy old carpets that haven't been updated in years, and awful fluorescent lights in your dorm room, you are in luck! Lee Hall is easily the worst residential building on VT's campus, and it really shows. Usually 2 of the 4 elevators in the buildings are down and unusable, meaning most students have to walk up multiple flights of stairs to get to their dorm rooms. Generally, the public bathrooms in the halls are pretty nasty even though they are cleaned once a day, the shower drains are often filled with pubic hairs/random long hairs clogging the drain and making it so you step in about 2 inches of water anytime you need to take a shower. PLEASE purchase some shower shoes before you live in this building, or else you will seriously regret it. The lack of AC is absolutely awful, and the rooms stink of 50+ years of previous college living when the windows are closed in the dead of winter. The only thing that made this building worth living in was the camaraderie because everyone that lives there is in the struggle together, and you get to meet some pretty cool people in this hall. Good air conditioned lounge on the second floor, otherwise no AC in the building." - 4 years ago
