    Jester West

    Jester West at UT Austin

"The dorm was clean and nice. I was on the male end of our floor, and our bathroom was clean. The janitor came twice a day to clean the bathroom, once in the morning and once in the evening. The location was central to everything: Gregory gymnasium, PCL (the largest library on campus), and all class locations. Most people staying there were freshmen. There was activity in the Jester Complex (which is isolated from the room areas) almost 24-7, with the Wendy's closing at 4 AM. However, he walls were super solid so you couldn't hear your neighbors or any thing going on outside at all, so were are no worries about loudness. People say that the dorm is for 'extroverts', but that is not entirely true. Introverts can easily come and crash at night and go to class with no problems. However, if you are extroverted, then the dorm is the place to be because there's just so much activity going on in the area." - 2 years ago

    Duren Hall

    based on 4 reviews

    Duren Hall at UT Austin

"The dorm is the newest on campus and pretty modern. Facilities are nice and include study lounges/vending machines on every floor, a mini-fitness center + game room, and a nice formal lounge + outdoor courtyard. The dorm allows you to scan your ID to enter your room rather than use a physical key which is a huge timesaver. The rooms have individual AC units and are larger in space relative to the other dorms on campus. It's also closeby to Kins (superior dining hall) and Guad (In And Out, Halal Bros, etc). The only downside is that the dorm is the northernmost building on campus so it can be quite a walk to get to your classes. This is only noticeably a hassle in the scorching hot summer, otherwise, the walk is enjoyable. " - 1 year ago

    Kinsolving Hall

    based on 5 reviews

"Overall I thought this was a good pick, although probably not the best on campus. For reference, I lived in the shared bath half of the building Pros:- Dining hall in the building. Always nice when it was raining- Small. The elevators were never full and it was easy to take the stairs since it’s only five floors and laundry was almost never full- A closet with a door. When you have people over, all your junk isn’t in full view- A large desk. While you can’t move it, it’s huge and I never ran out of space despite owning a lot of electronics- An exercise room. The gyms are generally packed, but I was never in this room with more than 4 people - The one window let the room be really bright if opened but could also be completely dark when closed Cons:- My whole floor was cold constantly- The bathroom is tiny and really tells it’s age - I heard a lot of people complain about the walk up a hill to get there. I never had a problem with it but something to keep in mind, especially if there’s bad weather it’s a long walk" - 4 years ago

    Carothers Hall

    based on 2 reviews

"Lived on the first floor so it lowered my rating a bit. At night people would walk through the hallway and it can get pretty loud. Other than that it was pretty good living here because of the location and overall environment." - 4 years ago

    Jester East

    based on 17 reviews

    Jester East at UT Austin

"Unlike the common thinking, my floor on Jester East was the juxtapose of it. It was quiet, and everyone was friendly! It has multiple study rooms, and a big laundry room with a nice view of the tower! The elevators are quick, and hot water is not an issue. I would recommend choosing a room in the back hallway if you want a little bit more privacy! Bathrooms are mostly communal with separate shower stalls (with doors), but you have your own sink. You can't control thermostats and the windows are a bit small, but furnitures are movable, which is a plus to reorganize your own room. The location is unbeatable, right where many facilities are!" - 4 years ago
