Pritchard Hall Reviews
Virginia Tech
Reviews Summary
Pritchard Hall is renowned for being one of the most eventful and vibrant dorms on campus, offering a lively college experience. As the largest dorm on the east coast—excluding the naval academy—it boasts a rich social atmosphere where friendships flourish and unforgettable memories are made. Known as a party dorm, it is ideal for students seeking a dynamic and energetic environment, although those prioritizing academics might find it challenging to concentrate amid the excitement. The dorm's rustic yet spacious rooms add to the unique character of the building. However, Pritchard Hall has faced criticism for its cleanliness, particularly in the bathrooms and showers, with issues like fungus on shower curtains and unsanitary conditions persisting on weekends due to the lack of cleaning staff. Despite these challenges, the sense of community and camaraderie among residents makes it a beloved choice for many. Its convenient location near dining halls and transportation options further enhances its appeal.

i lived in Pritchard dorm and was appalled, the cleanliness of the bathroom and 4th floor was atrocious, i have had to go to other floors to use the rest room, we have food in the elevators and even at one point had human feces, whatever reason there is for not having cleaning crews active on weekends isn't a good enough reason, there would be puke in the showers all weekend after football games and fungus is regularly found on all the shower curtains, the lack of cameras is another issue leading to these problems as well as the excess of fake fire drills. i've sent emails in asking about the cameras and was told they have been paid for since September and they still haven't been put in, these issues are the most simple things to fix.

Having lived in Pritchard for 2 years, I'd say it was an okay dorm. It was a very eventful dorm, as there was always something new going on just about every week there. You're able to meet many interesting people living in Pritchard; it is indeed a party dorm. If you are someone who focuses on academics, I'd say this is not the best dorm for you. If you want a unique experience, I'd say Pritchard is probably one of the best dorms for you.

Pritchard is the largest dorm on the east coast (not including naval academy) and is easily the more fun dorm and has the best overall community. I’m a Junior now and I still instantly bond with people that also lived in Pritchard. The lack of A/C is honestly negligible it’s only hot for about 2 weeks at the beginning and end of the living there. The rooms are pretty large but have a rustic feel. The bathrooms are cleaned 2 times a day and the showers have great pressure. Overall I’d say it’s the best dorm on campus.

If you want the college experience, Pritchard has it all. From goofing off with your hall mates to late night fire alarms, this building will make your fellow freshman full of envy!
One hallmate made some hooch in his closet, a toilet vanished overnight, there was even the Pritchard Pooper! Need I say more?

Party Dorm :) noisy outside on weekends, but convenient location to dining halls and parking/bus stop.
