No ac, simple, few frills, all guys dorm with recent minor updates to bathroom and sinks. Vinyl and carpet are nice. Pretty relaxed, has tiny gym in basement. Bathrooms were occasionally trashy due to certain individuals, but nice janitor. Residents cycle yearly so different atmosphere each year I guess, but largely quiet and friendly my year. Showers can take 10s of minutes to warm up depending on amount and time of day. Vending machines bottom floor. Washing drying machines via coin or Hokie wallet on left side, about 6 each; do not dry well. Left side requires two keycard swipes due to gym or something. Lounge on each floor contain just chairs and tables mostly. Kitchen in second floor was always smelly and dirty. Just bring a fan and yo...

Miles is a male only dorm at Virginia Tech. It is located pretty far away from the primary academic spaces besides Squires, GLC, and Torgensen. When I lived in the dorm in 2016 it was very clean (added points for the great cleaning staff there) and the communal bathroom was newly renovated. I was very social my freshman year and visited pretty much all the dorms and the bathrooms were perhaps the best communal ones on campus. No air conditioning (you don't really get this option at any of the other dorms/suites anyways). The laundry room is located on the first floor and is pretty high capacity. I never had to wait for someone else. The location is near Owens and Johnson (package pickup and mailboxes respectively) so that's a definite plus....
