I just finished living in Infinity this year, and I had a pretty good experience. Although it can be annoying getting up earlier to make class on time, the luxury of not having to use a communal shower is totally worth it. Not having a kitchen didn't really bother me because I usually ate at my sorority. Even if you have a meal plan, the closest dining hall (Broward) is about a 15-minute walk, which some students might not want to make, especially at night. However, I would not have enjoyed my experience as much if I didn't have my car nearby. I parked at the Park on the Fly lot right across the street, which made it easy to drive to campus if I didn't feel like walking. Having my car allowed me to feel safe going to the library late at nig...
Overall a rather positive experience with Infinity. The double suite has two, two person rooms - each room with their own bathroom. Each suite has a thermostat. Furniture is good quality as far as dorms are concerned. Lounge is great on each floor. Each floor has their own laundry room with 3 washers/driers. There are two working elevators. Car parking is absolutely awful. Scooter parking is adequate. It's a 10 minute walk to campus, but you have easy access to a wide variety of restaurants around infinity. Also, parties are easy to get to from infinity.
Each room has its own thermostat which is pretty cool! The rooms have central AC instead of the window unit that most dorms have so it’s nice to be able to not worry about humidity/units freezing.
The only cons that I can think of is that the rooms are smaller than the other dorms, the location is considered off-campus (you will not be given a decal to park on campus), and there is no stove/oven in the kitchen. While the dorm is considered off-campus, it is a 2 minute walk from restaurants and the main shopping center. As far as amenities, I believe this is where infinity shines through. Laundry sites are available on each floor, computer/study work space available on the first floor, on-site printing, elevators, 3D-printing and creative work space, and a balcony on the second floor. The first floor also has a larger common area that models that of a work break room. The dorm has scooter parking that rarely fills up.
Infinity Hall was my first time living in a suite-style dorm, and I loved it. It is one of the newer dorms at UF, so it's fairly clean and innovative, and there's rooms on the first floor in which you can study, build things, print, etc. There are 2 elevators per floor, and it's very nice having that luxury! The drywall in the rooms makes it nicer to hang decorations, as opposed to the popcorn walls or hard walls in the traditional dorms. The only negative aspects of Infinity are distance, price, and kitchen space. Infinity Hall is down the street from campus, so it will be quite a walk getting to class everyday. The dorm is also very expensive, and you could live off-campus for cheaper and with more benefits. Lastly, there's no proper kitc...
