The dorm is not the best when it’s hot, but is fine when you have a fan. There seems to be no air circulation, so hallways can get smelly, the restrooms are not the best because you don’t really get any privacy, most of the doors in the dorm slam super loud, so be prepared to hear constant slamming, and the rooms are pretty close to each other so you may hear people next door, below, or above you.
Definitely the worst dorm to live in. While the heat is insufferable during the summers, the building is not at all bad during the fall, winter, or spring. However, the OAs are terrible. The front desk is always closed during times when it should be open, and the OAs have no clue what they are doing. It almost seems like they were thrown into their position with no training whatsoever. I recommend you keep track of your key at all times, because if you misplace it for even a day they will try to charge you for losing 3 different sets of keys (I know, it makes no sense, but thats what they did to me). When you try to reach out to Deanna, a dorm coordinator and the supervisor of the OAs, she likely won't respond to you for at least 2 months.
PROS -Dorms are bigger for a double -Free box fan for my year at least -Close to Union and the music/arts stuff -got to watch a concert in the fall on the South Oval from my dorm -cheap for a dorm I guess -Tradition's at Kennedy's -Mary is an angel that only floor 4 knows CONS -no temperature control (even hot in winter, AC is only in rec room) -bathrooms were always nasty (women's closest to Baker Hall W had a shared changing room for 2 showers, men's bathroom was normally covered in puke/cigarette butts) -nothing sticks to the walls including pictures or frames -COCKROACHES basically, if you just want a place to sleep that is one of the cheapest options and you'll probably never be in there during the day, then this is great. Probably the worst dorm on campus, I've been to almost every other dorm. No air conditioning. Furniture was old and wobbly. Bathrooms were very small and gross, shared among floor. Each hallway had 1 bathroom with 2 toilet stalls and 2 very small showers. Laundry room was kind of gross. Lounge/Study rooms were just repurposed dorm rooms with folding tables and folding chairs, a joke compared to other dorms with dedicated rooms with comfy chairs and tables, some even projectors. Location was not great with classes all on north campus but at least it's close to union, or maybe if you enjoy south campus better. I haven't been there in a while so I can't remember if there was elevator or kitchen. Never used those.
