Lipton Hall Reviews
New York University
Reviews Summary
Lipton Hall is the epitome of an ideal freshman dorm at NYU, standing out for its unbeatable location right by Washington Square Park. Students rave about the spacious rooms with impressive views, such as of the Empire State Building, making it a dream living experience. The convenience of having a dining hall on-site is a major plus, although some mention the absence of individual kitchens. The dorm boasts a well-maintained building with communal spaces like lounges, a meditation room, and even resident Corgis for added charm. Its proximity to classes and various amenities, including study rooms and a dance room, enhances the overall appeal of Lipton Hall. While some found it less social, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, recommending it as the top choice for incoming freshmen looking for a comfortable and convenient campus dwelling.

Lipton Hall is nice if you're a freshman trying to adjust to life in the city. I moved to NYC from a very small, predominantly white suburb and it was a big change for me. Staying in Lipton and having my classes close to me was probably the best way to acclimate to the big life change. AMENITIES: Unfortunately, this dorm has very few amenities. Other than a commuter lounge and dining hall, there are very few study spots that almost always closed or being used. The laundry and trash disposal areas are small. The dining hall is also quite small and doesn't have too many options. For example, there is usually only ONE choice for meat, as it is a vegan/vegetarian based dining hall. ROOMS: Most rooms are spacious and clean with nice hardwo...
Lipton Hall is a great freshman dorm conveniently located near Washington Square Park and a 5-10min walk to most of the buildings (CAS, Stern, Kimmel, GCASL, Bobst library etc.) Another upside of living in Lipton is having a dining hall at your disposal. Most freshman dorms are traditional style ie without having kitchens and having a dining hall in your building is a great + The rooms are spacious and if you're lucky you'll have a great view (I had the view of empire state, a living dream!!) I would say the cons of Lipton Hall are smaller bathrooms and closet space, when compared to other dorms like Brittany Hall. But once you adjust to it, it's really great living there. I know it took me some adjusting especially being an international ...
Moved to NY from London and this accom is pretty good. Only thing i can complain about is pricing. Other than that, its all good, Would recommend.
Best freshman dorm by far. Only problem is air conditioning and hot water is not available sometimes but there is a problem in Ave dormh location is good the dorms back into your self.
Fantastic location, next to literally hundred restaurants and small business. Building is well maintained and most rooms are spacious with wide windows that open and allow the breeze in. Very nice view of the park as well as quick walks to class.
Dining hall in the building is good. It’s clean and sterile. There’s AC as well. The rooms are pretty good. It’s a pretty solid dorm. Very close to classes and the park is right there.
Close to the campus, the dormitory is equipped with a dining hall that is vegetarian-friendly compared to other dining halls. Downstairs is Washington square park, five minutes from the library. But there is no kitchen in the dormitory, and if you are lucky you can get a large room
I loved living in Lipton Hall as a freshman. My window overlooked Washington Sq. Park and the live jazz music truly made living in Lipton a memorable experience. It was super convenient to classes and events. There were so many fun events planned during the year by the RAs. I made some of my closest college at Lipton. My room was spacious for NYC and clean.
Best location!! One of the cleaner dorms. The dining hall is convenient and the rooms have great views.
Newer dorm (renovated for incoming Freshman class in 2015) located right on WSP. I was one of the lucky ones who lived there when they first opened it to students after the renovation. Everything was brand new, with dark wood floors, clean white walls, and insta-worthy windows. My view was of the Empire State Building and it was the epitome of the NYU freshman dream dorm room. My suite had a double and a single (with our own doors) and a private bathroom, which was brand new as well (no kitchen). Random roommate pool can be a hit or miss, but if you get lucky it is the perfect dorm. I lived on a high floor which meant I had to go to the lobby and switch from the high-rise to the low-rise elevators to go down to the basement to do laundry, w...
