Number 5
Alumni Hall
Out of 4 Alumni Hall reviews , 2 of them said they lived here as a sophomore
based on 4 reviews
"My dorm room's pretty cool. It's clean, though a bit on the small side. Big win is having my own room, so I get some solid privacy. The bathroom's just okay, nothing fancy. But the building itself? Looks nice and has a good vibe. Overall, not a bad place to crash for the school year." See all 4 reviews

Clark Street
Out of 7 Clark Street reviews , 3 of them said they lived here as a sophomore

"I stayed at Clark Street over the summer and overall, I thought it was a great dorm. First off, it used to be the St. George Hotel which was once the largest hotel in nyc. With that said, the best part of staying here is all the lounge and common areas of the building. There is a communal kitchen with a large "cafeteria" style room, another large room with couches, a pool table and a TV, and an entire floor in the basement for laundry. The room itself was your classic dorm room. I stayed on the 9th floor in a double with a roommate with a nice view of Brooklyn. The bathroom was a part of the room and was nice as well. Loved the location as well- the Clark St station is exactly below the dorm building, and Brooklyn bridge is a 5 min walk away." See all 7 reviews
Number 3
Palladium Hall
Out of 7 Palladium Hall reviews , 6 of them said they lived here as a sophomore

"Palladium is a nice dorm only because of the amenities. It has singles and suites but rooms are small and bathrooms are not updated. The amenities are the best features. The gym is the largest on campus with swimming pool, basketball, work out equipments and weight machines. The cafeteria is also the best on campus. The variety caters to everyone's needs. Sunday Brunch was a tradition for my friends and I. We had French Toast, eggs Benedict, paella etc. It's also right at Union Square so you're at a central location for catching a train to anywhere in the city. It's also only a 15 min walk to campus. Carlyle Court
Out of 7 Carlyle Court reviews , 6 of them said they lived here as a sophomore

"Location is great! Right on Union Square - near a central hub of subways and a different crowd from WSP! It is only a 10-15 min walk to campus - which is great exercise down University Pl. The dorm consists of three different buildings (1 shared entrance) with a central outdoor courtyard that you are allowed to hangout in. Our room for 4 people included a decent sized kitchen, private bathroom, and dining table. I lived in C2, which I believe had bigger rooms. My roommate and I shared the open living room (we used our desks and a curtain rod/curtain to create a barrier from the kitchen for privacy) and we had 2 suitemates who shared the bedroom. The living room had a balcony which allowed for more sunlight to enter the room. Overall, a ton of space compared to other dorms and it was a pleasant experience as long as you maintain the cleanliness of your kitchen and bathroom. Each building has a different amenity such as the lounge/ study rooms (which also have private bathrooms if you need to go asap). Package room is efficient and you pass it on the way up to the elevators so you won't forget to stop by. As always, toilet paper and garbage bags were free (a big plus for a student budget!). No dining hall, but near a lot of great ones - palladium, uhall, and you pass Weinstein on your way up. Also near Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and tons of great food if you don't have a meal plan. The nearest gym is Palladium. East village nightlife is nearby too." See all 7 reviews
Number 1
Gramercy Green
Out of 8 Gramercy Green reviews , 7 of them said they lived here as a sophomore

"Hands down the best dorm at NYU. It's large, modern and updated. You have private bathrooms, kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, stove top, large windows with NYC views. If you get a higher floor and you're on the south side you get light in the room all day and a view of the empire state building. The dorm is located near flat iron district which has a nice park, lots of food spots around. The only con is the distance from campus but there is a free shuttle bus that drops you off at Astor place. The 6 train also drops you in the same area. If you don't mind the travel and you get a chance to live in this dorm, you won't regret it. " See all 8 reviews
