Is Forbes College Main the best dorm at Princeton?
Students rated Forbes College Main a 4.3/5 stars. Here's what they had to say.
A decent room all-around; no insects or AC issues, although it is a bit dungeon-like in its aesthetic and lighting. I lived in this double by myself, so I can see it being a bit cramped as a double.
so nice. huge room on third floor main inn and the location is a touch annoying because you have to take the elevator to get down to main inn like dhall and whatever else since the third floor new wing is the only unconnected floor. however, the rooms are massive and tons of natural lighting with a pretty view of the backyard of pink house. communal hall bathroom on third floor new wing but its not shared between very many people so its always empty and cleaned multiple times a week!
Room 216: double + private bathroom. At first, we bunked the beds but later unbunked and arranged them in an L-shape along the back and left walls. I'd recommend stacking bookcases on top of the drawers to optimize floor space, but there’s enough room if you choose not to. For reference, we could comfortably fit a queen-size air mattress on the floor with our two desks on the right and left wall, beds in an L-shape at the back, drawers on the left and front wall, and a minifridge near the door. Lots of wall space and never had a problem with duct tape, putty, or command hooks on the paint. Note that the flooring is tile, but we didn't really need a carpet. Had a problem with ladybugs in the Spring, but they leave after a few weeks. Great view of the sunset over Forbes backyard with a lovely breeze if you open the window, and the room is air-conditioned. Super close to the kitchen, stairs, and elevator. Highly recommend
Room 220. The best room in forbes by farrrrrr. double connected to another double by a jack-jill br.
Room 268: double + private bathroom PROS of this room: - overlooks the Forbes front lawn, good sunlight - room shape and size is terrific CONS of this room: - right underneath a men's 3rd floor bathroom, had some ceiling leaks and plumbing issues as a result - freshmen room (269) shares a wall would recommend drawing into 267/266 instead PROS of New Wing (compared to main inn) - larger rooms, walk-in closet, bathtub, rectangular room makes for easy setup, more privacy - heating system is much better than main inn - no mold in the bathrooms, less musty overall CONS of New Wing: - occasional roaches - no air conditioning - less communal areas to fill a water bottle for new wing vs. main inn -- decide if the occasional large annoyance is worth having an overall larger room with better amenities
