it’s not too bad for what it is, you can def make do with what you have. location is whatever although since it is on the edge of campus it’s kinda far from a lot of other stuff. double rooms have enough space for two ppl and it’s never been cramped or anything, and the bathrooms are pretty mid. it’s nothing special but also nothing to be super disappointed about in the fleets.
I lived in the Fleets my first year as a Marshall student. Its considered overflow housing. Not the best experience. Its located on the edge of campus. The fleets have doubles that were converted into triples. And there were 5 rooms with 3 people each. And we shared a communal bathroom (2 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 sinks) among 15 people. There are no elevators, no kitchen, and no AC/Heater. Being a Marshall student, all my classes were either in Marshall or Center Hall so its a walk sometimes. 64(dining hall for Revelle) and Rogers (the market for Revelle) was close so that was fine.
This location is great because it's right next to one of the main lecture halls (Galbraith), next to a parking lot, and close to the Center of campus (10-15 minute walk). However there is no elevator so if you are dorming in the 3rd or 4th floor, be prepared for stairs everyday and all the time. There is only one laundry area per building (this is one dorm in an area of buildings that are collectively called the Fleet), so you are sharing one laundry space with 3 other floors. The custodians come once a week on a designated day and a usual time. They are really sweet so be nice to them, keep your things tidy and say hi. You also share one bathroom that has 2 private toilet stalls, 2 shower stalls, and 2 sinks with everyone else in your suit...
Super small triple with 15 people living in it. The bathrooms in Fleets were good because 2 separate showers and 2 separate toilets so we rarely had to wait. Too small and no elevators.
