At first glance, the Lowers is kinda dingy and tucked away/ covered with forest trees and bugs, but from my experience, it was a pretty homey and pleasant area. The old age of the building is somewhat noticeable through the paint and the dingy looking colors, but the location of the apartment definitely makes up for it. I lived in Bravery apartments in Marshall Lowers. The room was almost twice as big as the triple that I was in last year in the dorms, but the room was musty and on the second floor so it got pretty hot. When I came back from winter break, there were mice living in the cabinet and feces all over our food. I contacted EHS and had them set traps but that was not fun at all. There was also a termite infestation and my apartment mate's windowsill had a little hole where 5-10 termites would crawl out of every day. Location is extremely convenient and room is spacious but at the cost of a clean living environment.
You find yourself waiting to use the bathroom because the shower and toilet is located in one room and shared between 6 people. I also hated every single on of them.
