It was nice. Good location in relation to the arc, dining commons, and class rooms. Would live here again.
I lived in Sequoia Hall first floor during my freshmen year fall and winter quarter before covid. The facilities and building itself were quite new. My dorm was a triple with one bunk and one lofted bed. The space was comfortable enough for 3 and they provided lamps, closet, chair, desk, and a mattress. There was also AC and the room was always comfortably cool. Since I lived on the first floor, there were only half as many rooms as the upper floors since the study lounge and communal kitchen took up the other half. There was also a male and female bathroom in the hallway that was spacious and cleaned every day. Sequoia Hall was also quite close to the Tercero Dining Hall. As far as the dorms go, it's not the Best in terms of amnesties (Cottonwood having a game room and music room, one of the Segundo dorms having a piano, etc.), but it's definitely at least 2nd tier. Contains the kitchen shared with Mahogany and Hawthorn people. Close to the Tercero DC. Temperature is reasonably adjustable inside each dorm room.
Overall I really liked living in Sequoia! It's in a very accessible area, and it's right in between both of the Tercero dining commons :-) Our service requests were always responded to very quickly, so that was really nice! One thing that I have to complain about was the lighting in our room. The lights in the room are very dim, so the main source of light was from our table lamps. Also, while there was air conditioning, it was somehow almost always hot or stuffy in our room. The air conditioning was adjustable though!! The bathrooms are about what you would expect for a dorm bathroom, but how good or bad it is really depends on your floormates.
