Light Hall Reviews

Northeastern University

Reviews Summary

Light Hall is a cherished hub for students seeking a unique and intimate college living experience. Students rave about its charming and distinct character, distinguishing it from the typical dorm with a hospital-feel. Light Hall is lauded for its small community atmosphere, fostering close connections among residents, which is perfect for freshmen eager to meet new people. The dorm's strategic location near Pavement Coffee and Whole Foods is a notable highlight for convenient access to meals and amenities. Its spacious basement, equipped with a pool table and TV, serves as a popular gathering area, making it the social epicenter of the dorm. While the dorm lacks elevators, and boys reside on the third floor, these quirks add to its appeal. Singles in Light Hall are prized for their size compared to others on campus, and the dorm’s LLCs—focused on community service and green living—attract a diverse and engaging group of students. Clean bathrooms and stunning stained glass windows add to the overall charm of this older building.

Loved living in Light Hall! Literally the best LLCs and the charm of the dorm is so different than the standard hospital-feel type room. The basement has pool and a TV and we had stained glass windows in our room! Also, pavement coffee and Whole Foods are super close :)

It's a small community which is nice because you get to know everyone. Our quad was kind of small for four people but we made it work!

Great dorm. It’s size and layout make it very homey. Perfect place to meet tons of people your freshman year.

Dorm is full of odd people, being the ones that choose the community service or green living LLCs. Small dorm with large basement. The singles are generally larger than singles in other dorms. Older building, but bathrooms are clean and there is always a single bathroom available on the floor for when you need it. Keep in mind, there are no elevators and boys live on the third (top) floor.

Small dorm so you get really close to everyone else living there. Also a huge basement with a pool table so everyone hangs out there
