super convenient as it’s right in front of krentzman quad and the northeastern train stop. the noise of the traffic and train can get annoying. the building is old and so is the bathroom. this specific room has three windows overlooking huntington street and you’re able to open them. this room also has three people so it can get crowded. there’s not really a living space just the beds and desks. there’s also one huge closet to share.
I lived in a standard double here during the summer. We had a big living space and a small, narrow kitchen. Unfortunately, our place didn’t have air conditioning, so we had to rent an A/C unit for our bedroom. The ceilings are very high, but the air circulation was not good – it was especially bad when it would get really hot during the day or when we would cook, and the smell of the food wouldn’t leave through the windows. The building itself is really old and the elevator is a little janky. It’s right across from the Northeastern T stop, so the sound of the train was loud in our place. Besides the big living space, there weren’t many pros for staying here. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this dorm.
I stayed here for Summer 2021-Spring 2022. I had only one roommate and the room was a decent size, enough to have my own little corner. Living space was big enough, but the kitchen had very little counter space. One major hassle is that there were only a few washing and dryers, which most of time were not functioning. Location was very convenient though, since I was able to get to classes in less than 10 minutes.
Good price, room was pretty big, lots of room to spread out. I had a little cubby where my bed was and I put up a curtain and basically had my own room, desk in the big common area it was nice. Good location on campus. Laundry floods a lot
I lived in a studio double and the kitchen was really awful. i had a horrible fruit fly infestation because the kitchen window was broken and no one would fix it. i’m also convinced my room had mold or something because i was constantly sick while living there (including two ear infections). the bathroom was recently renovated though so that was really nice.
Pretty decent for the price. Had a bunkbed but there was a decently large closet. The kitchen is extremely small and crammed. There were rats a lot and the building seemed to have a lot of openings for rats to come in.
Building plus: nice lounge/study area, in-house laundry with decent capacity and WATER FOUNTAIN (yes the fancy infinite goodness for the hydrohomies ones). Location is right across DMSB buildings and close to mail pickup. Minus: Rats will be a problem if you leave your food outside long enough. Cereals seem to be the main attraction. Cleaning equipment specifically vacuum cleaners are of bad quality. Water pressure throughout building is weird, showers will have temperature dips and spikes arbitrarily. Microwaves are not provided. Rooms: Standard Double (with living room): spacious living room and study space, very tight kitchen (2x8 ft of standing space rough estimate), would recommend for people who likes sunlight, breathing space...
This building is really old, we do have an elevator but it doesn’t go to the basement which has the laundry room. The RAs always have cool stuff though. I lived in a two double apartment and it was pretty nice, although the heat would turn on and off by itself and we couldn’t control it. Our bathroom was definitely the nicest part of the whole apartment though. I liked living here overall.
