    Daniels Hall

    based on 5 reviews

It's a really fun dorm hall and super easy to make friends. There's a common area on every floor which a lot of people congregate to. Regarded as the party dorm at my university, however the quality of the rooms is awful, it's always super loud outside if you are near windows, and there's very little space for 4 people to live in. It's near a lot of the most popular bars at my university. - 4 years ago

    Morgens Hall

    based on 1 review

I lived in a studio apartment in Morgens for four semesters. It wasn't anything special, but that being said, I only moved so I would be closer to my classes (I'm in CECH and Teachers-Dyer is on the opposite side of campus) and so I could have a washing machine in my apartment (in USquare) instead of having to use a communal laundry room.

I also lived in the same room layout in Scioto in summer 2020 and there was virtually no difference, so I would recommend reading the reviews for both buildings even if only one of them is an option to you.

    Pros:
    - Floor-to-ceiling windows for some of the best natural lighting in any place I've ever lived, not just dorms. I lived on the 10th floor, so even though my room faced east (off campus), I rarely felt as though I was exposed.

    Cons:
    - Only two elevators for 13 floors and up to 456 residents. It's usually not too bad except around times that people are leaving for or getting home from class. If you can't use stairs, try to get a room on a higher floor (I've seen the elevator fill up before it gets to the lower floors) and always leave "waiting for the elevator" buffer time so you aren't late to class. - 4 years ago

    Scioto Hall

    based on 2 reviews

This dorm is pretty far away from most classroom buildings. There’s a dining hall a few minutes walk away under Marian Spencer, as well as a Tim Horton’s.
You get a private bathroom only shared between you and your roommate(s). The rooms are pretty spacious, but there isn’t a huge amount of privacy between beds in the doubles, the room is just wide open.
It has a fridge, microwave, and stove/oven, so it is a good dorm if you want to avoid the dining halls. - 4 years ago

    The Deacon

    based on 2 reviews

This place is really nice. There were issues last fall/this spring with fire alarms and break-ins, but the issues appear to have been fixed. Fire alarms haven’t gone off in the time I’ve been back and there haven’t been any reports of break-ins lately. They’ve started locking all of the exterior doors to help limit the people in the building. They used to be unlocked during the day.
Maintenance is quick to fix issues you’re having (COVID slowed things down a bit, but they’re mostly back to normal).
The kitchens are nice, the bathrooms are nice, the bedrooms are nice. The studios are a little on the small side, but the other apartments are a lot more spacious.
The amenities are also great, there’s a pool, a gym, and business center with free printing onsite, so you don’t have to go to the rec or to campus computer labs to print if you don’t want to. The rec probably has more/better equipment though.
The mailroom wasn’t accepting packages for a few months (COVID), so they ended up in the mailroom with risk of things being stolen, but they’re back to accepting packages and there’s no longer risk of your stuff being stolen. - 4 years ago

    University Park Apartments

    based on 1 review

A typical college-style modern apartment. Everything present but of mediocre quality—from carpets, to sofas to beds to kitchen. Many awful smells in the lobby, usually of weed or food. Friday nights, people may get drunk or intoxicated very much and get violent—visibly clear when they break the communal lights and lamps, and scratch off or draw on walls. Or atleast that happened during my year.

There are RAs. Most of them only exist when they have to do necessary room inspection or solve filed disputes.

Communal washers and dryers. Private bathrooms—one shared by two roommates. Not many chances to make friends. Overall, 3.5/5. - 4 years ago

    Turner Hall

    based on 4 reviews

I lived in a double suite my freshman year. There was a spacious living room, and a little kitchen “area”. My biggest problem with Turner was that we didn’t have a communal kitchen, but didn’t have actual kitchens in our rooms either. (No stove/oven). We made do with a microwave and plug in skillet. Bathroom is a huge bonus, as you have a toilet and shower each with their own door, and a double sink. Giant windows in the living room was also a huge bonus. Recommend Turner to anyone who asks, as long as they know it’s not the most social dorm. - 4 years ago

    Campus Recreation Center Hall

    based on 2 reviews

Private suite; super close to Center Court and most campus buildings; mail comes through Dabney which can be inconvenient and people are often less social than in other dorms - 4 years ago

Marian Spencer Hall at University of Cincinnati

Marian Spencer has junior suite style rooms. There are two rooms attached via washroom. Two students live in each room.
It is right in front of sigma sigma commons and is a 5 to 10 mins walk from kroger and Target.
There are student lounges available on each floor and a huge student hang out area available on ground floor. - 2 years ago

    U Square

    based on 3 reviews

Good apartments, but for a price that may be too high for many. All amenities of a typical apartment present, including oven, microwave, washer, and dryer. BIG bathrooms. Good, clean and comfy carpet. Many times, your floor may smell bad because the garbage has not been removed by the facility on time. But that smell does not enter into your apartment.

It’s on Calhoun St. Many restaurants nearby. Have their own garage. Very safe. The alarm system is loud enough to kill you from a heart attack. If you ask for maintenance at the lobby, they will help you and the guys would be there to fix in a day or two. Floors 2 and 4 have a shared computer and a printer that’s free to use for any resident. Good lounge area and gym. 4.5/5. - 4 years ago
