Daniels Hall Reviews

University of Cincinnati

Reviews Summary

Daniels Hall is a vibrant and highly social dorm that provides a quintessential freshman experience, especially for those seeking to make new friends. Its location is a significant plus, situated conveniently near popular spots, including the university's favorite bars. Despite its social advantages, Daniels Hall does come with certain drawbacks. The building and rooms may not be the most aesthetically pleasing, featuring a painted concrete, submarine-like aesthetic, and the space is quite limited, particularly for four-person accommodations. However, the storage space is surprisingly ample for such cramped quarters. Known for its lively atmosphere, commonly referred to as the "party dorm," it offers a network of common areas on each floor where students frequently gather. The noise level, particularly near windows, can be problematic for those needing a quiet study environment. Additionally, the elevators frequently malfunction, potentially providing unique opportunities to meet fellow residents. While students might initially struggle to adapt, many describe Daniels Hall as an unforgettable place they came to call home during their freshman year.

Very social communal housing. You will 100% make friends living here and the location is a sweet spot.

Let's be honest, everywhere you live as a freshman will suck if you're going for the cheaper option. If you live on the ELLC floors you will rarely have issues with noise while studying. It's also very easy to make friends here. Any other issue you may have with the place you'll get used to in less than a month. Is it spacious? Not unless you count storage space. Is it clean? Actually yeah it's not too bad for a dorm. Is it pretty? If you enjoy the painted concrete - submarine aesthetic, sure it's pretty. Is it a place I called home for 8 months and won't ever forget? Bet your ass.

You will never need your key to get in and out of the building because people are coming and going at every hour of the day. Elevators are never working. Very social dorm, good for parties bad for studying.

It's a really fun dorm hall and super easy to make friends. There's a common area on every floor which a lot of people congregate to. Regarded as the party dorm at my university, however the quality of the rooms is awful, it's always super loud outside if you are near windows, and there's very little space for 4 people to live in. It's near a lot of the most popular bars at my university.

The building itself and rooms kind of suck, but the location and social aspect are great. The quads have great storage despite the cramped space. The state of the building actually makes it easier to meet people as you’ll probably be stuck in elevators and common rooms with new people.
