    Stonehaven

    based on 3 reviews

Absolute worst place to live. I wish I would have found a house to share with friends as that’s what I did my last two years and it was better. First off, this place is EXPENSIVE. I was sharing a room and it was still pricey. The wifi situation when I was there required your own router although I am not sure how it’s changed since then. The walls are PAPER THIN. I got written up twice just for talking at a normal indoor-voice level. Parking is EXPENSIVE. If you want to bring your own car, it’s going to cost you. Also if you want more freedom for a cheaper price, try finding a house or the off campus apartments that are not affiliated with UCR. There are still RA’s in Stonehaven and there was no freedom. You have to pay to do laundry. Overall, worst place I have ever lived. - 4 years ago

    West Lothian

    based on 26 reviews

    West Lothian at UCR

Pros: Starbucks and the convenience store are really close. The Lothian building also has its own cafeteria. Plus, you will mostly likely meet lots of lively people.
Cons: The building is old, I remember having lots of rain leaks in my dorm, but I think they already solved the issue. Though, stuff similar to this is prone to happen. - 1 year ago

    Aberdeen-Inverness

    based on 29 reviews

    Aberdeen-Inverness at UCR

-Pros: Close proximity to new dining hall (Glasgow), the SRC (gym), and Campus. A very social ambient and welcoming environment for meeting new friends. There are pool tables, and piano rooms for the use of residents. There are events planned by residential life which can provide either free food or items.

-Cons: Oldest dorm on campus so expect issues in the bathrooms, A/C, and facilities. Room itself is spacious height wise but somewhat small lengthwise. There were many water shut offs that are resolved within a day.

-Hall/Room: Your hall is a co-Ed hallway with two restrooms for each gender, a lounge with couches, a table, chairs, and a tv. For triples, there is a bunk bed and a lofted bed. There are two main closets, three desks with organizers on top and three drawers. There is also a two door cabinet for a third closet. Included with the room is a microwave and a mini-fridge which work fine.

    Falkirk

    based on 2 reviews

It good. Basic enough apartment and has been a nice cozy place.

Internet needs to be sorted by people living there, and isn’t too amenities rich. But good for students - 4 years ago

    Glen Mor

    based on 4 reviews

I live in New Glen Mor building G with three roommates. You get your own room and you only share a bathroom with one other person. The furniture is great, but I wish the closet was bigger. The bathroom was very similar to the one I have at home which is nice. The kitchen is very nice and there’s lots of space to cook in it. There are a few maintenance issues. One of the outlets in my room doesn’t work, and neither does the dish washer. Overall the building is very new and the location is great if you have classes close to Orbach and that side of campus. New Glen Mor also has a grocery market and a Starbucks within it as well as Amazon Lockers. - 2 years ago

    Pentland Hills

    based on 73 reviews

    Pentland Hills at UCR

    PROS:
-Getting more privacy when using the restroom and shower since it is only shared with your hall mates (9-10 people max)
-Can be single gender or gender inclusive depending on where you live
-Easy to be secluded/quiet which makes it much easier to study
-Can easily be inviting to others by just opening the doors
-Has a common shared kitchen with an oven and fridge (may not be cleaned so you will have to clean on your own)
-Technically you have two lounges (one that is at your hall and one that is shared by building
    CONS:
-Doesn't have an in-house dining hall so you will have to walk everywhere for food (Can be a pro if you want exercise but sucks when it's pouring in UCR)
-If you live on the first floor and the people above you walk heavily, you will hear it - 4 years ago

    East Lothian

    based on 45 reviews

    East Lothian at UCR

East Lothian is nice as each room has their own air conditioning and heater, but the shape of the room is fairly odd. The closet space is average but the room is pretty big. Unfortunately the bathroom showers do not have doors, so the shower curtains have been somewhat of an inconvenience as they can break. However, the building includes a pool table and movie room as well as a couple study rooms which is nice. - 2 years ago

    Oban Family Housing

    based on 1 review

I was on the waitlist for 1 year and 9 months before we were offered a unit. Rent is currently about $1k for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom which is a steal compared to other apartments in Riverside of the same size/amenities. Laundry is free and my son has many other kids to play with from the Oban community. Maintenance has been lacking but that’s common across UCR in general. NOT disability friendly, it’s like pulling teeth just to get basic accommodations like designated parking spots. The sidewalks largely have no ramps, making it extremely difficult to navigate with wheelchairs, strollers, etc. - 2 years ago

    Dundee

    based on 35 reviews

    Dundee at UCR

Dundee is definitely the best dorm at Riverside, the modernity of the layout and the included stuff make it feel like a hotel room. My only gripe was probably my floors showers were kinda booty and that you could hear people jumping up and down upstairs. Everything is really nice though and its a little small (but the room is pretty long) - 1 year ago

    North District

    based on 4 reviews

    North District at UCR

Living at North District is very nice and convenient! You're down the street from your classes and the study rooms are always nice to have since you don't have to go all the way to the library to find a place to sit down and study. I live in a 4 bed 2 bath so it's nice having your own room, but a con is that the walls are pretty thin so it's easy to hear your roommates and people in the living room even if your door is closed. I personally don't have any problems with the utilities in my unit, but if I do, you can just request a work order and the nice staff will get it fixed within the next few business days. Plus the sunsets look really nice with the buildings :) - 2 years ago
