Slichter has both pros and cons. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience there! The rooms are on the larger side, and the building is very well lit. However, it's quite old so there is no air conditioning and the elevator is basically unusable (not that it's really necessary outside of move-in day). The building has four floors with two wings each, one for girls and one for guys connected by a lounge. Everyone that lives there is a freshman. This made it pretty easy to make friends! I'd say there's a good mix of people that do and do not like to drink. I wanted to be in southeast but got slichter so i wasn’t too happy. that being said, i know people who wanted to be on the lakeshore side of campus and loved living in slichter. If you want a quieter environment and don’t want to go out a ton this is an adequate option. Slichter isn’t as far as some of the other lakeshore dorms which is a plus. Now for my list of cons. There’s no air conditioning which is brutal in the fall and spring. It’s next to the WORST dining hall, Carson’s, on campus which you may think won’t matter until you very quickly get sick of eating the same sub par meals. Since slichter is at the bottom of a hill you’re going to have to walk uphill to almost everything. The elevator is a lift and gets stuck at some point eve...

Really pretty location, next to the boathouse and gardens. Built-in dressers. No AC and weirdly loud/uncontrollable heat. Mostly freshmen & all doubles.
