I loved living in Parkside IRC my freshman year! The room was super clean and spacious and my roommate and I both got our own closets, dressers, and desks with a hutch so there was ample storage space. The ceilings are also really high which makes the space feel bigger, too. Housekeeping would come in to clean the bathrooms twice a week, which was so nice. I liked the proximity of IRC to the, in my opinion, best dining hall on campus. However, it is a 15-20 minute trek to the center of campus and Leavey Library and definitely one of the more quiet and less social dorms. I wouldn’t change my decision to live here if I were to go back, though!
I stayed in a single and it was amazing. The rooms are just as big as doubles and you get a huge private bathroom. The study lounges are lovely and the dining hall is right downstairs along with a gym. It was also super close to all my chemistry classes (which is important since they started at 9am!). All rooms come furnished with a bed, desk, shelves, dresser, chair, fridge and microwave.
Loved IRC! My suitemates and roommate were super sweet. It was the perfect balance between socialization and privacy. I also really appreciated having a bathtub that was shared only with 3 other people rather than an entire floor. The rooms are definitely one of the most spacious on campus.
As a Viterbi student, I loved living in IRC. Most of my classes were relatively close to campus. Even though the location is a bit isolated, I liked the quite environment it provided. The suite style living allowed for private bathrooms and really spacious bedrooms. My RAs were amazing and super caring. Also, the Parkside dining hall is really close.
I really loved Parkside IRC. The rooms are HUGE the suites are amazing and the bathrooms are huge as well. Plus there is AC and staff cleans the hallway of your suite+bathroom multiple times a week. Even the dining hall is just downstairs. There are also so many study areas. This place is amazing and I really recommend it!
Great experience living in the suites at Parkside IRC! I was on the WISE (Women in Stem and Engineering) floor, which allowed me to connect with a bunch of great people and form connections with the in-residence faculty. Bathrooms are only shared with 3-4 people (so you can put all your stuff in there and don't have to worry about shower shoes or carrying your toiletries to the bathroom), and housing comes in to clean. Only con is that there wasn't a kitchen (but who knows if I would've had time to cook anyways). This might be a con to some, but I wouldn't say this building is very "social"-- it's very easy to make friends with the people directly in your suite (and the fact that you can just sit in the common area connecting your rooms a...
Parkside IRC was a great place to stay on campus as a freshman. It was a little expensive compared to other dorms, but it had great diversity and was definitely a must for international students. The RAs were really caring they planned a lot of community events. The dorms were mostly "en-suite" with 4 rooms per suite and 2 people per room. Each suite had two bathrooms that were shared amongst the 8 people. The dining hall at parkside is one of THE BEST dining halls on campus.
