south quad is the best dorm building you can get on campus. not only is it close to everything, the dining hall is the best and the space in the lobby and basement is great. tbh, the only thing that sucked (but not enough to remove a star) is that some dorms, like mine, don't have AC, so the hot days were just terrible, but nonetheless it was a great dorm to be placed in for my first year.

Definitely the best dorm on campus. Best food. Biggest rooms. Clean bathrooms. Literally no complaints.

Tbh not a bad dorm. I kinda was super lazy and antisocial my freshman year, but south quad is still a great place not just for those like me, but also for those with lots of friends and motivation for studying, with its numerous study spaces and lounges.
Additionally, the dining hall is very good too. Overall, very good dorm, and you can’t be upset in SQuad.

Amenities based, its hard to beat 7th Huber. It is located above the main entrance making it a daily convenience and it has a two common rooms on this floor (none on six or eight). Overall 3.75/5. You might want to have a single in this building because the building contains 1800+ students and you can get overwhelmed very quickly that number of people. Brand new dining hall is cool, but since 1800 people live in the building, the best food goes quick. Location is only second to West quad. But it feels like the center of the campus universe. You will look back and enjoy the days you call south quad home.

Definitely one of the nicer dorms! It doesn’t have air conditioning in the dorms but that’s not that bad considering it’s only super hot in sep and part of oct. Having the dining downstairs is super nice, but it’s not that social of a dorm

The dorms are much larger than most dorms at UMich (19x11) and the building is very well located. The downsides include no air-conditioning and the furniture and walls are out dated, but having one of the best dining halls on campus, being located close to the law quad and big house are some upsides!
