    Stockwell Hall

    based on 2 reviews

It’s quite old- a lot of things were chipped and worn out when I got there. The rooms and bathrooms were quite small too. Also, you have to go out to mojo for food, and it can get quite crowded at times. Very good location though! - 4 years ago

    Betsy Barbour

Best location on central, having a single is worth it because the room is enormous and private. Bathrooms haven’t been updated in a while but the quiet study rooms downstairs are amazing. - 4 years ago

    Martha Cook Building

    based on 1 review

I lived here for 3 years. For those who may be more shy and introverted, this is an easy way to make friends based on the fact that it's a small dorm and there is a real sense of community. There is a ton of within-dorm traditions and activities that you can partake in (or not, I didn't do a ton of stuff through the dorm). The building itself is old but beautiful and depending on if you stay for more than one year, you can get a really large double or single. The dining hall is only for residents and I never got bored with the options. The bathrooms are fine, there are several kitchenettes on each floor, a hang out space in the basement with TV, piano etc, and two large living spaces. However, the best thing is the LOCATION. I would roll out of bed 10 minutes before class and be in Angell Hall on time. Close to Law Library, Union, Ross, and the walk to the Big House is very short. - 2 years ago

    Couzens Hall

    based on 1 review

Really big dorm. Like 500 people in here. Was on the fifth floor. Lotta people so a lotta noise pretty much 24/7. Dinining Hall gets pretty busy but is really nice. the elevator breaks down a lot, which could be bad if you broke your leg or smthg. Great overall! - 4 years ago

    Mosher-Jordan Hall

    based on 4 reviews

    has a dining hall downstairs!
    bathrooms cleaned daily early morning
might need a stool to get on a bed, even if you're tall (5'8")
    lounges are nice
smaller dorm but great location on "the Hill" and close to other dorms. close to the "tent" - temporary gym while the other is under construction. Outdoor walking track behind it - 9 months ago

    East Quad

    based on 7 reviews

It is by everything. The quad is a 5-minute walk and all the good bars are nice and close. The basement is sick and the elevators are fast. The food was decent with lots and lots of options. Cons, classes are a bit of a walk. - 1 year ago

    South Quad

    based on 6 reviews

south quad is the best dorm building you can get on campus. not only is it close to everything, the dining hall is the best and the space in the lobby and basement is great. tbh, the only thing that sucked (but not enough to remove a star) is that some dorms, like mine, don't have AC, so the hot days were just terrible, but nonetheless it was a great dorm to be placed in for my first year. - 1 year ago

    West Quad

    based on 2 reviews

    West Quad at UMich

West Quad is the best of all the freshman dorms. Its close to downtown is connected to the union. The rooms are much bigger than other dorms on campus. There are multiple study spaces downstairs and the rooms have working ac/heater units. The bathrooms are nice and well maintained. - 2 years ago

    Alice Lloyd Hall

    based on 4 reviews

Definitely the best dorm at the university - nicknamed “Palace Lloyd”
not to mention one of the dorms with AC so already a million times better than south quad or whatever else people pretend is good. You have to walk to mojo for food but i always did in my PJs or without putting on a coat even on the worst days because the walk is so short (literally less than a minute) - 4 years ago

    North Quad

    based on 3 reviews

    North Quad at UMich

The best dorm on campus -- AC, right next to all the State St. stores/restaurants, only share bathrooms with 1-3 other people. Get on the 3rd floor if you can, it has direct access from the lobby, the ceilings are extra high, and it has all the laundry machines. Only qualm is that you have to go outside to get to the (relatively small) dining hall, and there are no practice rooms, just one piano on the 10th floor in a study room that's usually full :( - 1 year ago
