The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a public research university in Illinois in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana.

At UIUC, all students who are classified as first years dorm on campus. There are dorms across both the Urbana and Champaign parts of campus with two different types of dorms: public dorms and private certified housing. Within some public dorms there are also Living Learning Communities (LLC’s) which are application based to live in and strive to bring together different student communities. ADA accessible public dorms can be found in Ikenberry Commons and special living dorms are spread out throughout campus. Private certified housing tends to be more expensive but has perks that public dorms don’t have. Some private certified housing are meant for certain demographics and accommodate for special living circumstances as well.
