Florida Avenue Residence (FAR) Reviews

FAR is not a bad dorm- the dining hall had good food and soul food nights were really great! The dorms themselves are small but clean. The only issue I had was that for a good part of the year, the water ran cold in all the showers, but hopefully they've fixed that. FAR is pretty far from the quad, but you get first dibs on the bus seats since they start and end there. I enjoyed my time there.

Its a pretty average dorm. Living on the first floor meant having bugs from time to time but it wasnt terrible. The social aspect of dorming made it great.

FAR should not be your first choice dorm under any circumstance, but if you do end up living there it’s really not too bad. The AC is great and you can make your room as cold as you like, the study lounges are also air conditioned and nice unlike most other dorms. FAR has its own dining hall with decent meals and across the street PAR has an equally great dining hall. The busses all start at FAR so it’s pretty nice. The only downside is it’s a 15 - 20 minute walk from classes if you miss the bus. Also the bathrooms are communal but are cleaned everyday.
