Worst dorms at UIUC?

Illini Tower and Taft-Van Doren would definitely be near the bottom.

Illini Tower might look decent from the outside, but it’s had serious issues—things like pipes bursting in the winter, bad food, and unresponsive management. Even though the private rooms seem appealing, you’re better off in university housing where things are better maintained and you actually get support.

Taft-Van Doren is super outdated. The rooms are tiny, there’s no A/C, and if you end up on the bottom floor, it’s basically a basement with people being able to look straight into your window. The walls are paper thin, bathrooms are cramped, and common areas feel run-down.

Evans Hall isn’t terrible, but it’s pretty old and not social at all. Bathrooms are just okay, and while the location is close to the Quad, the vibe is really quiet and disconnected.
