    Crowell at Duke

I enjoy my stay at Crowell overall. The building is the closest dorm on west campus to Wilson gym, so it is convenient to exercise. The building has been renovated so all the facilities are modern and in good conditions (air-conditioning, common rooms, kitchens etc.) The water pressure in showers is generally good as well although it might be hard to get the one you want due to insufficient shower rooms. The downside is that the walls are pretty thin, so you could hear music blasting a few rooms down the corridor or people chatting outside your door. The rooms are not carpeted (easier to clean) and have good natural light on a sunny day. My double room is on the small side but still bigger than an average room in other west campus dorms such as Edens. Storage space runs a little thin (small cabinets) so consider buying extra storage boxes. There are enough common areas for residents to come together to chill or study. - 2 years ago

    Hollows

    based on 1 review

Best dorm at Duke that offers suite-style living. Unfortunately, the location is not great (10min walk for food). But, the community is here and the parties are here! - 3 years ago

    Randolph

    based on 2 reviews

Really solid dorm in my opinion, I enjoyed my time there. The only problem are the small rooms, but it makes the community 10X better. Also, while the location might seem a little far from mp, it's so nice to have Brodie nearby. - 9 months ago

    Keohane Quad

    based on 3 reviews

Keohane 4E should be judged separately from 4A, 4B, and 4D. I lived in 4B, which was a good experience. The rooms are pretty spacey, you have central AC, the bathrooms are big, and the building itself is nice (plus you get to see Peaches and Mamabean each time you walk to your room). Its location isn't as good as Few but much better than Edens, so it's neither a plus nor a minus. I'd definitely recommend Keohane but Keohane 4E is definitely the go-to if you can get it. - 4 years ago

    Wannamaker Quad

    based on 3 reviews

Recently renovated dorm, so everything from the kitchens to the bathrooms to the study rooms looks brand new. The beds are also the nicest on campus- full size and dark wood. The community is also great compared to other dorms because it’s a standalone building. - 2 years ago

    Wilson

    based on 4 reviews

Wilson is suite style which is super nice. My double was really big and the a/c goes as cold as you want. The private bathroom was great (assuming your suitemates help you clean it), and it was one sink/bathroom/shower for four people. Wilson’s common room isn’t the best of all the dorms but it’s very lively and people like to hang out there. Only 4 washers/dryers so you need to find an odd time to do laundry sometimes. Wilson’s location is hands down the best, there is a computer lab with printers attached to the dorm, right between Marketplace and the bus stop. - 4 years ago

    Gilbert-Addoms

    based on 1 review

Practically bug-free, long and open rooms, mirrors, very conveniently attached to GA down under (meaning you can actually print things or go up to your room at night), two kitchens, study areas all on first floor and GADU, has its own bus stop, central AC, no hard to clean carpet, handicap access bathrooms, multiple entrances and exits (depending on your late-to-class needs), distanced from main quad so quiet on Shooters nights, closer to 9th street/whole foods, multiple laundry rooms, ice machine (hidden away a bit in GADU but explore), big glass doors at main entrances so its easier to get help if you get locked out (will happen)

There is technically an elevator but it is only used for package/mail delivery - 4 years ago

    Giles

    based on 3 reviews

One of the best common rooms on East, and consistently has a good community compared to other dorms, in part due to the dorm's smaller size as well as its' common room. - 4 years ago

    Brown

    based on 1 review

My corner room was HUGE (some rooms are smaller), bathrooms were renovated a couple years ago and are much nicer than neighboring Alspaugh and Bassett. In-room AC for now which is certainly better than nothing. AMAZING location, right next to MP and not to far from the bus stop. Smaller dorms also have better communities usually. - 4 years ago
